Every day, I have to make breakfast and lunch parcels for my husband and daughter. So for a long time I used to using banana leaves to wrap up foods. In my garden has only one banana tree. But fortunately my neighbor has a very fruitful banana cultivation. :D
Since long time I could be able to avoid lunch sheets, similar bags, plastic cups and boxes. My daughter is a member of a provincial environmental society. So, she against to using them and she always helps and motivates us to use “Eco-friendly” things.
My country is very rich from Banana. Many Sri Lankans, (especially in rural areas) using banana leaves to wrap up foods. Before a few months government prohibited using lunch sheets and similar bags. But very difficult to avoid them totally.
Dear Grace, Thank you so much again to give this opportunity. And I’m so happy to participate in your challenge. I’m a nature lover and this is a bit effort from me to help our earth.

Hi Kal! Wow I thought it only happens in my country. I can say that it is the traditional and down to earth way of us when we prepare the food on banana tree. Some people also think it can effect the taste of food, and yes it is! And your photo make me realize it also happens in your place. I'm happy knowing it :D thanks for sharing

Der Kal, Thank you for sharing your lovely idea about the lunch parcels. We don't use plastic containers we use the stainless steel ones for lunch when we go to School. Weddings, parties, special occasions we eat in the banana leaves. the food taste better is int.

Kal,

Very beautiful photo and very impressive as well. I am so happy to see you participate in this challenge, no wonder you did :)

The food looks very delicious and appetizing. You care really for the details and I am quite sure, both of them, looks very much forward to unpack their lunch to see what they will have for lunch.

It is a very eco friendly initiative and very creative one as well.

Ooooh, smiles for you, I really like the little green leave in the middle of the rice :)) It looks epic.
