Never Take For Granted

At the time of birth, there are many people around us celebrating and welcoming as newborn baby. With the passage of time, we hear the news about their departure from this worldly life. One by one we are losing while growing up and lost all of them at the old age if you are lucky enough to reach at senility.  When they were used to be with us, we never thought that there would be a time when they might disappear from our sight forever. We usually take their presence for granted.

We should bear it in mind that everything and everyone that are around us will never stay with us forever. Things will be different at certain stage. Who may have a chance to recall to past memory after a life Journey from the birth to senescence. When I count relatives and friends I lost, I see a long list. I extremely miss them all. Instead of crying for those who left us, pay regard and take care of those who are still present and live around us. So never take presence of beloved ones for granted.

I Will Never Do It Again!

          It is human instinct to learn something good or bad as per his own interest and environment, but if you have a strong curiosity that always pushes you to learn and experience something new and different, you then rarely pay attention to Rules and Regulations or any instructions. Sometimes in learning you may go beyond the limit knowing its consequences. At the end, you just learn from experience “I’ll never do it again!” which you may learn from others’ experience without endangering yourself.

          When I was grade 6 student, there was a pond behind my school wall. I heard from others that it was so depth. Therefore, no student was allowed to go near the pond. On Friday when school used to be close, I went there. I saw a boy of my height swimming in the pool as if it is not deeper than our height. When I asked him about its depth, he forbade me to jump into the pool. I thought he didn’t want me to enjoy like him. I finally dived into the pool as though I was a professional swimmer, but then came to know its depth. I screamed! help! help! and requested him to pull me out from the pool. He saved my life. Thank God! I am alive. It was not the last case. Life moves on with such curiosity and taught me lessons one after another. I trapped several times and enjoyed at the end.

           Notwithstanding all the experiences gained throughout my life, I made another sweet mistake, but this time, I did follow all the rules and regulations and all the instructions of my elders and seniors except friends who always stopped me to do it. They shared their bitter experiences. I thought that I might be different from them and would prove myself wiser than them. In the long run, I dived into the sea of marital life. Since then, I am continuously going down but could not find the bottom in a sense that working harder than before to lead a happiest life and give my son a better and strong future. At the end I learnt that keeping one wife happy is not an easy task. It will be blunder if I think of marring another woman. I will never do it again!

Corona Virus And My Marriage

Hello there :)

Since long I am absent from this site nor I am in touch with any member of this site on any other site. Responsibility at home and office has been redoubled after my promotion and marriage. As for marriage I had a wish that I would invite some friends on this site, especially living my hometown to make it more memorable. On the other side, due to the spread of Corona Virus across the world, invitees even more than 400 seemed to be absent at the venue of Valima Reception being held on 10th March, 2020 in Karachi, Pakistan, but by grace of Allah the Almighty all the guests invited participated. by taking precautious  measures, Government of Sindh issued a Notification on 14th March, 2020 banning on gatherings and marriage etc. In view of that situation I felt so lucky and thanked to Allah the Almighty. However, this virus has changed my itinerary I made before marriage and confined us to the home only.

Reasons Of Inconsistency

There are many factors behind success. Of all the factors, consistency is the most important. We all almost are the dreamers and put all the efforts in chasing them, but those of us who maintain consistency, successfully reach the destination. The fluctuation in following the dreams or persistence on the way to the achievements  is the outcome of the company we keep.

Most of us, sometimes, adhere to the companionship to the extent believing that they are very helpful. They are but, if we are struck among those who dream otherwise, rather they are critics, change the company instead of wasting our  time in bringing them around. They will make it harder for us by criticizing them. At the end, all the efforts go in vain. Resultantly, we blow hot and cold in the efforts. The inconsistency is the result of clashes of ideas, thoughts and dreams which we strive to achieve.

When we have dreams, we should search for the companions having similar ideas, dreams and goals. Such company pushes us forward  and keeps us busy and motivated vice versa.

Never Give Up Part II

        In connection of my previous blog , I would like to share you one of my life success in the aftermath of positivity at the crucial stage of the match.  I even can’t recall every moment in the match to my memory, but last two over which means 12 deliveries and we require 40 run. I was playing as guest player on the request of my friend. My job was just to bowl. We lost 5th wickets. Before, losing the 6th wicket, the team lost the hope to win the match as they believed there was no regular batsman left who could chase the scores, whereas, on the other hand I kept stirring up my friend and other teammates and making them believe we could win the match. They responded me with a ridiculous smile. My friend asked if you would score 40 run in 12 deliveries. I said, “yes your brother I mean I will do it!” While we were having arguments, 6th wicket also fell, I angrily took the bat and began walking toward the pitch.

        The bowler who took 3 wickets in his first over was standing at his run-up and ready to bowl me. I hit four sixes on straight in his first four balls consecutively. The teammates who began leaving the ground turned back. I took single in last ball so that I could face the first ball of next over. I played according to my plan as there was a big gap in fine leg area. I slightly came on off-side and hit fine leg where I got four run. In a nutshell, I alone completed required score even before one ball. Finally we won the match. While I was coming back to pavilion, all the teammates, including my friend began shouting and cheering up.  Being optimist is not the matter of winning but preserving our self honour, respect and dignity. When you care for your respect and dignity, it is hard to lose or give up in the middle of the game or any exam of life.

        When you read the biography of successful people, be it educationalists, bureaucrats, politicians, scientists etc, you may find many stories of their  unresting exertion with consistency despite experiencing ups and downs on the way to their destination or achievement of their dreams. The constant adherence to the dream plan and strategy is the result of being optimist even when others are hoping against the hope. Whereas, pessimism leads the dreamer to abandonment of the endeavor and makes him idle.  A question bears in mind, how can one stand steady on the race of life and competition?

        Honestly speaking, I have no idea what inspires the dreamer to stand steady till the success. However, I can let you know my experience as a sportsman that I gained such spirit from cricket. In cricket or any sport we learn many lessons of life such as collaboration, discipline, execution of strategy, suppression of stress, self belief etc. the main factor among all is to remain positive which leads the player to the victory. In absence of optimism, he deviates from the strategy resulting in non-association in team. In short period of game, we, the player, practise being optimist. Finally, we become used to handling with all the challenges confront in the game and every walk of life. The former captain of Pakistan Cricket Team, Imran Khan who is now the Prime Minister of Pakistan has also been seen many times referring to his fighting spirit as a cricketer in every speech while proving his determination to fight against the corruption. I had a lot of examples of my own experience I can refer but time doesn't permit me to write or share you.

Thank you so much for reading!

My Friends Were My Great Enemies

You might read many quotes on friendship, loyal friends and best friend, but probably all of us might know the principles of friendship. The friendship is not made on mere emotional base or in view of common interest, rather it should be on the basis of visionary and ideological acumen. What strengthens the friendship and relationship whether between two brothers, friends or a married couple? No an appropriate answer we have found yet.

When I was under ten, I used to love reading books to the extent; friends of mine began teasing me by calling bookworm. They used to suggest me that I should take part in extra curriculum activities. The suggestion apparently seemed great in terms of physical fitness, but it was proven destructive in this sense that Playing for an hour or two is not a bad idea, but dragging me to their discussion on daily sport activities which took me away from my constructive activities i.e. learning by reading. Actually, at that time, I didn’t notice that they felt ignored and failed to draw my attention. It’s human’s psyche that when you engross on something, people around you try to enquire it curiously and leave no stone unturned to distract you. They want your company for their own interest.

When I started playing cricket, I, very soon, became much popular in school and among cricket fellows and at the age of fifteen, I was selected for Karachi team.  They didn’t sit silent. They suggested that there was a beautiful world out of cricket ground. Finally, I agreed to go with them for picnic on every weekend. I used to value my friends more than anything else, but this type of friendship based on selfishness; I was too naive to perceive the side effect of such company. However, after experiencing some tragedies and exposure of real faces of so called friends, I realized that my friends were the killers of my precious time and great enemies of mine.

Strategies In Cricket And My Life.

        When you are keen observant and extract pearls from your experience for your life and that of others through observation, you are not included in the list of lessors. You transect your business with your own life, give and take. What pearls for life I figured out from cricket are  mentioned below:-

        In cricket, there are two teams battling for domination, but the real battle is staged between a bowler and a batsman on the pitch. The fielders on the ground are the supportive members for the bowler.   There are  three types of bowlers such as fast bowler, medium pacer, spin bowler. What type of bowler may be, but his main intention is to trap the batsman. For he (bowler) sets fielding on the ground against the batsman and bowls according to his plan. In a nutshell, he makes an strategy before delivering the balls to the batsman. It gives me a hint “make strategy first before doing anything and do according to your plan”.  Whereas, I, from the batsman side, consider it a conspiracy of the bowler against the batsman. Now come to the batsman and think from his standpoint. The batsman first learns defensive shots in cricket and then lofty shots. In the battle of life, you must improve your defense first before attacking others. From religious perspective, first get the habit of avoiding sins bebore planing to do virtuous work. Second, when you have no defensive strategy, you may not play long inning and out from this battle. For you must keep patience and wait for lose delivery to hit. In the whole battle between the batsman and the bowler, the winner is the one who gets over the pressure consciously and patiently. The pressure overcome by one side automatically shifted to rival side.

        I learned from my experience as a cricketer that putting pressure on other is like fighting your own reflection into water. You are likely to be trapped in it built by your self.  You just need to tackle the pressure by keeping  yourself calm (optimist) as far as possible. In doing so, there are less chances of losing anything. It is not so simple. For you need constant practice and for such practice you need at least one bowler in your life ;D and when you find him, never lose him, rather hold him tightly ;)

        I started cricket at the age of twelve and was first time selected for School Cricket Team at the age of thirteen as a left-arm orthodox spin bolwer. My first coach was a school teacher who was also the president of forty clubs and an old  friend of former cricketer of Pakistan Cricket team, Sir Hanif Muhammad . My coach asked me to play for his club named PIB (Pir Ilahi Bukhsh) sport and PIB Talent.  I played a dozen of time against other clubs, but it was first time I was playing agaisnt any departmental club cricket team. When I came into ground for fielding, the players of PIA club began laughing at my being youngest team player. They said, “ Sir, don’t you have any younger player than him?” Joking tone . “I will let you know his age after this match” said my coach.

        It was 35 over match and 7 over limited for each blowler. We won the toss and elected to field first. We all players were deployed on the ground at different field. The fast bowlers started their first spells, the openers of opposition played so aggrasively and kept the batting average high i.e 8 run per over.  After eight over, we got first wicket. We gathered at one place for awhile cheering up fall of first wicket and got  bit relief, but the one-down batsman was very matured and well-experienced. He, after playing two and three defensive shots, began hitting sixes and fours. The captain brought all the bowlers except me to restirct him, but they seemed helpless. The captain was hesitent to call me for bowling at this situation as it was the first time I was playing for this club. My coach, who was watching that match, asked the captain to call me for bowling. Finally I was called to bowl to the batsman who then had been well-set.

        While fielding at fine leg position, I was  trying to notice his weak points and preparing my self where to bowl and how to set my fielding.  What I noticed that he was not good at his foot work. He was front foot batsman. So, I delivered  flight balls on his leg side away from range of his leg which he missed. My first two balls were dots. So, I guessed what he was going to do. As expected, he took two steps to hit me boundzry, but before releasing the ball from my grap, I at once changed my graps and  bowled top spin. He missed the ball and the ball hit the wicket. He was clean bolwed. I felt confident. I continued my spell and took five wickets in the match in just six overs. I was coming to do my last over. The scoring team of opposition began shouting and reminding the neutral umpair nominated by KCCA (Karachi City Cricket  Association) that I had completed my seven overs. My coach who was sitting beside them said with a smile on his face, “let him bowl as he is a child”. Even in my last over I took another wicket. Thus, I took six wickets in that match. We resticted them to 140 runs all out.

        Then we started batting. Our team chased the scores so easily after losing  three wickets. We gracefully won the match. I was receiving pats from my team-mates and rival team members on my back while rolling back my  kit-bag.  My coach adivsed the rival team, “don’t judge the talent and skill of anyone by height and age. In cricket, anyone, who can bowl and bat, can do anything.”

Let's Talk Something About Cricket

What  is Cricket ?

Cricket is a bat-and-ball game having eleven players of both sides. One is bating side and other is blowling. They rotate their inings / turn. The battiing side, after seting scores on board, gives chance to the bowling side to bat and restruct them from chasing the scores.  They toss a coin in the air and whoever wins the toss  chooses to bat first or bowl in view of condition of pitch and atmosphere.  I played hockey and football too, but I found cricket more  stylish game in which each player has to play his roll individually whereas in hockey and football, the players wait for the ball passed by other player or they keep running in the ground for nothing ;)

The cricket is being played in many countries of the world. But the countries which participate in world cups are England, Australia, West Indies, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.  The World Cup 2019 is going to start from 30th May, 2019 in England.

The basic equipment required of a batsman for his safety.

 01 Helmet, 02 Cricket bat, 03 Lag pads, 04 Gloves, 05 Abdominal Guard, 06 Thigh and 07 ball.

When a batsman hits the ball, it goes to the boundry. To whichever direction ball goes has its names normally called batsman's shot or field names. If you are fimiliar to the field names, you need not to stick television tightly to watch the match, you may enjoy listening to commentary on radio.

Field names are briefly illustrated by the help of diagrame.

Whereas there are more than thirty three (33) field names. If you are a professional cricketer, you must know their names or you have to face much embarrassements  in the ground. When I was under 14 and playing with the players played in domestic cricket, I was told field names and asked to go there. At that time I was bit ignorant of many field names, so I was confused where to go. but later I learned all field names and enjoyed playing as dominant player.

I will post next blog sharing my experience of cricket. Thank for reading!

          I always enjoy expressing my thoughts since the commencement of my academic career. After enrolment in the University for Master Degree, I was required to write thesis. While researching relevant topics to my assignment, I came across two words “English Club”. The word “club” gives me different imagination regarding this site. I mean English with entertainment; I got a chance to visit there to see what this site is about. I found many useful links videos, blog posts etc. So, I decided to sign up for it, while signing up, I was asked to answer three questions. One of them is English Club is NOT a dating site. I am joining because I want to learn OR teach English that boosted my confidence in this site as before this, I heard many negative news and information about communication on internet. I still abide by this agreement and wish to keep MYEC pure from such level.

          At the beginning, adding comments in blogs and discussion seems bit difficult, but was proven very fruitful practice. I also suggest new members to start practice by adding comments in blogs and discussions as much as possible. I wrote some funny blogs to see how much people get and react to my sense of homour. It was also wonderful experiment. I tied to write as simple as possible, so as to make it easier for beginners and elementary members to get my ideas without any hindrances.  Having opinions and thoughts from people across the world on the blogs and discussion has such a great pleasure, which I can’t express due to having inadequate words.

         Recently MYEC has been updated with very interesting features that make MYEC eye-catcher and removing some options of which members are seen complaining, but to me these chances don’t affect my infatuation at all. I have learned so much from this site and members. Honestly speaking, I couldn’t find any learning site better than MYEC.  For I am indebted to dear Josef Essberger for creating such a great site.  As for updated EC, the more you use it, the more you find treasures hidden this sea of knowledge. the more you wonder.

         I feel pound to be member of this charismatic site.

Long live MYEC! ;D

Bury The Hatchet

New version of MYEC introduced on 18th May 2019 is a good step toward infusing enthusiasm in members for revival of MYEC as most members were lossing interest in here. The updated EC has given me a possitive message that in the new EC all the previous messages in the inbox have been removed which means personal grudges caused by confrontations via personal messages now need to remove and reconcile the differences, so as to start learning English afresh mood and with positive frame of mind. Harbouring rancour in heart can bring about many heart diseases, resultantly aggravate learning environment for all the learners. So, please Bury the hatchet and enjoy yourself by writing blogs independently and taking parts in other (positive) activities.

A Teacher's Advice to Students

While introducing himself to a new batch in his class, an English teacher said, " my English is not good"
When the introductory class was finished, a student asked him a question, "Sir, when your English is not good, how can you teach the subject?
The teacher smiled and said, " it doesn't imply that I am unable to teach you English, but it implies that I am still desirous to improve English; it implies I still feel space that I need to fill; it implies I couldn't get to the level set by myself.  In fact, we can't reach the climax or perfection in any language. There is always possibility of further Improvement. For we must gear up. I proudly say that I am still learner.  That's what the message I wanted to covey you today".

The Character of A Happy Life

 A forgotten Lesson

How happy is he born and taught
That serveth not another’s will;
Whose armour is his honest thought,
And simple truth his utmost skill!

Whose passions not his masters are;
Whose soul is still prepared for death,
Untied unto the world by care
Of public fame or private breath;

Who envies none that chance doth raise,
Nor vice; who never understood
How deepest wounds are given by praise;
Nor rules of state, but rules of good;

Who hath his life from rumours freed;
Whose conscience is his strong retreat;
Whose state can neither flatterers feed,
Nor ruin make oppressors great;

Who God doth late and early pray
More of His grace than gifts to lend;
And entertains the harmless day
With a religious book or friend;

—This man is freed from servile bands
Of hope to rise or fear to fall:
Lord of himself, though not of lands,
And having nothing, yet hath all.

(Sir Henry Witton)

Earth Day

Every year the Earth Day is celebrated on 22nd April across the world including Pakistan. The same is being organized to be celebrated tomorrow on Monday here in Karachi by Korangi Association of Trade and Industry under administrative control of Chairman of Health, Safety and Environment - Standing Committee. Huge amount of money will be spent to inscribe it in the list of their performances, but at the end of the year nothing is achieved.
However, blaming environmental degradation on mere government or no governmental organizations is injustice as we all wherever live are vulnerable to the climate change. So, we have to come out from our comfort zone to take part in plantation and disseminating awareness about the effect of plastic bags. Most people, especially in under developing countries  are still ignorant of causes behind climate change and rapid growth of global warming. I am firmly determined to start a campaign in my locality very soon at my level  in Shaa Allah and hopefully more people will engage in this activities to save ourselves and future generation.

Reality Of Love Between A Couple

When I was a child, I used to hear much about love from youngsters under 18 who did nothing but wandering around the house of their beloved ones in pursuit of true love. But when I reached at the same age, I found it differently. I found it just a soul, full of emotion which is useless without body. In order to fulfill corporeal requirement, expressing swallow love does not suffice, you have to do something practically. When you engaged in practical life in order to aggregate the wealth which may preserve the love, the imagination of love is drastically changed. The circle of love is widened from a particular person to the whole family. I mean you start dreaming about having a family. When you start dreaming about family, you start looking for a certain girl which may help in coming your dream true. You, then become very conscious about every girl you are proposed or referred for marriage. A certain qualities are in view while choosing a life partner. The qualities vary from person to person depending on the type of dream. At the end, the reality of love reveals that the lover hatches out from the shell of emotion and rely on objective love.

Now I feel pity for those who are still roaming around the house of their beloved ones sharing verbose expression of swallow love just to peep out a glimpse of shinning face :D

Corruption

Money which is earned without labour is spent without deliberation. The income earned by unfair means is defined as corruption. The corruption is the root causes of all evils in the country, especially in public sectors which came into being for the redressal  of public grievances. It pains more when we find the corruption prevalent in anti corruption department which is the only ray of hope to get the messes rid of hurdles in the supremacy of law. It impedes the collection and generation of government revenue.

Most people are of the view that taking bribes in order to provide illegal service is corruption. To me attending office later than its actual time or fleeing from duty earlier than closing hours also falls into the definition of corruption. I blame people for the hike of corruption. When people becomes patient enough to avoid improper and short cut route or strong enough to take the corrupt officers /officials to the court, the ratio of corruption is automatically curtailed.
If God willing, I will share some stories as to how I dealt with such people when they came across.

Commitment

The commitment, by its definition is a promise to do something or be loyal to someone or something. I pay so much importance to the commitment. To me the commitment is accomplishment of task or fulfilment of promise within stipulated time. If a newly married couple try to adhere to their commitment, nobody can seclude their marriage. Similarly if an employee remains committed to his assignment, no employer can dismiss him from his job. The more you commit yourself, the more you narrow the gap between words and actions. This is the way you get yourself respected.

The Time Will Pass

Ups and downs are the part of life. Everyone in the world at whatsoever position may be has to face this vicious circle. The parents who are the most sincere gift of Allah the Almighty sometimes seem helpless when we alone have to cope with some challenges. When I underwent bitter experience of my life, I had to do nothing but keep endurance, so the truth would reveal at its time. I, then, realized that the time is the only medicine which cures our injured soul. I thank Allah the Almighty that the time never stops, but will pass. This belief helps me balance in my life. I neither rejoice extremely in domination nor despair in downfall situation as time will pass.

Since then Saturday and Sunday are our weekend. Working 9 hours a day from Monday to Friday, I feel exhausted and feel like going somewhere for excursion on the weekend. However, I spend it by reading books or writing a  blog on English Club for the sake of relaxation.
Happy Weekend!
