* a note by Natasha :
In different places this sign has different meanings.
In Russia and Finland the meaning of this expression is "awesome", "good", or "well done".
"Thumbs up" traditionally translates as the foulest of gesticular insults in some Middle Eastern countries — the most straightforward interpretation is 'Up yours, pal!"
In Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, and Thailand it is traditionally an obscene gesture, equivalent to the use of the middle finger in the Western world.
In Japanese sign language, the thumbs-up indicates a man, or male gender as opposed to an extended pinky indicating female.

this picture was taken : January 4, 2010According to a recent research, approximately 80% of our body consists of water. someone who is always behaving well, the crystal water fluids such as blood will form a beautiful crystal that will keep the body calm. Conversely, if we are often rude and do things that are not good then the crystal water liquid will be bad and diseases start to grow in the body.Ingredients:draw a face full smile as much as you can, because a smile will give a good influence to our bodies.Directions:Dr. Masaru Emoto--Japan, in his book The Message from Water - proved that water is capable of transmitting emotions. The way he used was quite unique. In front of a container full of pure water, he mentioned good and bad things. After that he took photographs of each crystal form of water and compared it with each other according to the things he mentioned. Good words (for example: I love you) form a beautiful water crystals. Conversely, bad words (for example: I hate you) form irregular water crystals . Water responded directly the sounds as well when exposed to classical music and heavy metal one.So, for that say the good words, or give a good influence, it will make your heart and soul calm. try to draw a face full of smiles to give a good influence when you experience a bad mood (bored, sad or ... etc).Good luck ...-Nadiyah-

My Prince

My Prince
by : Nadiyah

Who are you … ?

Why are you so special?

Until I have hobbled hopefully asking,

I hardly afforded to reach you, and pawned my heart to God?

Wailing every night, I was unable to stop

Who are you, so special in the eyes of God?

Until I had to crawl to walk towards morning

As the afternoon went up, reminding me

As dusk falls bringing hope to others, boredom over coming me

Until the night drew slowly to comfort me to my sleep

Who are you? Someone dressed in greatness

Like a prince on horseback, so enchanting

So handsome and elegant with decorations on head

In each morning greeting, with a friendly

Reminds of my lunch.

the evening and the nights before, that bothered my sleep.

Who are you who always reminded me of something?

On the principles of life, guiding and giving instruction

In my world, which promises happiness

In the hereafter, in my eternal life

Once cool, make my soul fly … I cannot stand up

Really, I don’t know you

You're mysterious, as you come in my dreams in your clothing of greatness

White, clean, like a holy man who came from afar

Has God sent you for me?

I'm not able to answer, touching in my gladness

wonder in my confusion

Now my heart has  been trapped on and ... be hooked by!

Ooh ... Who are you?

my students (1)

We can learn from anyone,at anytime, anywhere and anything ...My students are a source of learning, they are teachers of life ,they make me foster a sense of empathy for others.Today's kids face so many difficulties in their first steps as young learners. Yesterday, they were victims of poverty, today they are victims of parents disharmony, violence, sexual harassment, and tomorrow who knows what else ...one by one their faces appeared in my mind, and I couldn’t do anything.I only remember their smiles and hope it becomes a point to stay by their side, giving them strength and prayer ...Who is responsible? God, government, their parents, society or me?I can smile with relief when every day they are in school, it means there is a speck of hope for them ...have a great time,-Nadiyah-

This discussion took place yesterday morning, between me and Salim about citizenship, what is it, how to become a good citizen, how to get your rights as a citizen and so on.

Nadiyah : what is your assumption about citizenship,in other words, what does it mean for you?

Salim : Yes. Being a citizen is having rights and duties.Doing something for your community without a pay back, and enjoying freedom of expression and faith.

Nadiyah : Then, how to become that citizen?

Salim : You're a citizen when you throw your rubbish in the trash can, you're a citizen when you organize the local life of your environment by creating small associations meant to help the poor and the disabled, you're a citizen when you go and vote for the one you like or think is the best one who can run your affairs.............and many other things.

Nadiyah : How about citizenship in your country?

Salim : Algeria suffered a lot from the 132 years of French colonization(1830-1962).It was really hard to built the Algerian citizen once again, especially after the cultural war that the french troops and governors waged against everything linked to the Algerian culture from destroying religious schools and mosques,to killing national figures and scholars. But thank god we're doing great in this field and the Algerian people and getting more aware about the role they can play within their community.

Nadiyah : the important thing about being a good citizen is to have an active participation in your community. how?

Salim : Good question! Participation has many faces. It can be local by planting trees and flowers and training kids.It can be national by organizing meetings on how to be a good citizen. It can be International by being active in one of the world wide organizations like "Green peace",and all of these are just examples.

Nadiyah : What are the obstacles that citizens face?

Salim : The biggest challenge is to deal with oppressive regimes.Being under a military regime(like most of the countries) diminishes the area of influence of citizens, they must be motivated and believe in what they are doing or will to do.

Many thanks to Salim who agreed to answer my questions.

Any contributions to the topic are most welcome.
