Discussing about certain topics will help enhance one's presentation skills and the ability to weave stories. It will help us improve our speaking vocabulary as well as usages & sentence structures.

However, preparing to talk about different topics is something most of us hate to do. What then is the way out?

How about watching small video clips and discussing those? Wouldn't it be quite easy to watch a comedy/tragedy/tragicomedy video on YouTube and then try to describe and analyze it? This is an idea that just struck me today.

From the millions of videos on YouTube, we could use some of the following types:

- Humor/Comedy
- Fails/Bloopers
- Tragedies/Accidents (to analyze the scenarios)
- Wild life
- Documentaries/TV shows
- News/Events/History
- Sports
- Cities/Places
- Travel/Attractions

The video clips should be short, preferably less than five minutes long.

You and your speaking partner both should download the video and watch it. Then join your speaking partner (online) and discuss the video (Describe/Analyze the video).

Still not convinced? Give it a go, and more often than not, you'll find this strategy as exciting as it is effective.
