No Need a Title

Lately, I experienced lots of bad memories. It seems, all of those were coming in the same time without giving me space to breathe. This is a life, either I like or not, though.

The good thing from these occurrences is my passion to write bigger than before, looks like the ideas come up easily, effortless. Thanks God, at least I can post a blog that represents my feeling in the moment as well as practicing my English writing. This writing only my thoughts, no other purposes.

We may have many goals or nice dreams in our lives included family, work, love and so on. It is a must as the proofs that we are alive and as a human, too. Even though, not all our goals can easily be achieved. We may have the best plans, high expectations that we think these will not fail to be run. Unfortunately, we are as human being who has restrictions in many aspects, sometimes we are lost and unsuccessful to get all of them that we want. And oftentimes they make us disappointed, angry, sad and we might fall down into "the deep hole of life" that we hate, whilst we do.

Ones can come and go easily in our life. If they go, it does not mean that they are the bad people but their contribution in our life is end. When you are betrayed with the close person who you trust, or you are disappointed with the beloved ones. Please remember this nice quote “Never blame anyone in your life. The good people will give you happiness, the bad people will give you experience, the worst people will give you a lesson and the best people will give you memories”. They always give contribution in our life, without any shadows of doubt. Not easy as to be said, though.

As I cannot rid out the bad feelings and thoughts that poison my brain terribly oftentimes when they come, I just need to stop, take breath, and look back for a while as well as noticing the things that I have had, and then be grateful for. It is easier rather than I must complain with all the bad things in my life.

Always trying to look for the light whenever the clouds come. It is only a session not all session.”

PS: The photo was taken at somewhere place during the trip to my hometown. Welcoming the sunset and coincidence with my feeling at that moment.

The Life’s lesson

Sometimes we find an incredible lesson from the things around us without any awareness. It needs time to contemplate in while and connect it with our life experiences and thoughts. The lesson starts from here.

At that morning, I saw an old woman who was selling vegetables (in the market on the edge of the main street, unfortunately). She sat there behind her stuffs and relished drinking her tea. It looked like that her tea was the most delicious one and as if she savored it in the luxury cafe. Though, the price of that tea was around Rp. 3000,00 (Indonesia’s currency) Do you think as her think? I don’t think so (big smile).

What can I take from that simple scene of life? Some of us don’t realize (included me) that ultimately, the flavor of the tea is the same, whenever we drink it, in the cafe or on the street, the taste is the same. The sensation of the tea only differs when it passes through the throat, and we can say it is sweet or bitter. Thus, after all the taste is disappeared.

That case not only occurs for the tea, but for other things as well. The pleasurable of the expensive mattress will be sensed before we close our eyes and cannot be enjoyed when them are closed. And at the end of the story is the same as the tea. Nothing difference.

So, the life is about the taste (feeling). And it is only for a moment not everlasting and will change for another one. Whatever the taste that we say sadness, happiness and disappointment right now, just try to enjoy them, not to complain. Because these are only temporary. On the other hands we can take a good lesson from them to make us a better person.

Sometimes the bad conditions (sadness or disappointment or unhappiness) can sharp our personality. We know well ourselves in those conditions rather than in good ones. Just accept them as they are and try taking a lesson from them. It will be better rather than to complain.

When you feel your life is at the bottom point, look up on the sky. It still is large, no boundary as if your heart, taking a breath and trying to smile. It is only temporary not forever. It will pass and change. Be strong, "Life does not get easier, it is because you get stronger by time to time"

Love Without But….

I just want to re-write this post from Social Media of my friend (the original is in my native language), because I thought the story was very interesting to be shared and fortunately, it related to LOVE. As I understand the topic about of love is always appealing to be discussed or read. Besides, I was impressed much with its story. First, I need to remind you to be patient reading it, because it is a pretty long story.

This is a fiction story that can be categorized as a legend, as I know it is derived from India. In Indonesia, the story is presented in puppet show named “wayang kulit” (see the pictures below if you want to know one of the kinds puppets in Indonesia as the story). If you want to know the full story of it, you can google for “The Legend of Ramayana”.

And now the story is starting. Love without But….

The main character here is Rahwana. He was King of Giant Kingdom whose has a bad trait as well as a frightened face. The story told that Rahwana only loved one woman was his wife named Dewi Setyawati. In short, his wife passed away and he believed that his wife’s soul incarnated to Dewi Sinta. His love had never died throughout his life to Dewi Setyawati.

The time passing by and ultimately Rahwana met Sinta who was the wife of Rama at that time. Rama was a King of Ayodhya Kingdom and married Sinta because of winning a contest. Seeing this reality that Rahwana couldn’t accept it, there were only two options for him, stepping back or seizing Sinta from Rama’s hand. He knew what he wanted and he was ready to sacrifice his life in order to get his true love (the sweetest of him, this is true regardless his face, LOL….).  Thus, he kidnapped Sinta and brought her to his palace.

It had been three years since Sinta was abducted from Rama’s side. Rahwana treated Sinta as his beloved Queen. He didn’t touch or rape her, though the possibilities were always there. He only waited that Sinta would love him as he did, because he knew that the true or pure love couldn’t be forced. He thought that waiting was the best thing in order to avoid his beloved one got hurt in her heart, Sinta could love him wholeheartedly, someday…..even if it would be unlimited of time. Everyday Rahwana visited her and wrote her romantic poems that came out from his heart as well as apologizing because of kidnapping her. He did everything so that Sinta could accept his love and proposal to be her Queen, the one and only in his heart. But the fact said differently, Sinta always refused his proposal.

It is like the natural law that everything comes from the heart will be toward heart as well. Though as Sinta knew Rahwana was the cruel King but his sincerity could be felt by her heart. During her presence in Alengka Palace, Rahwana turned into a good and charming person. And the atmosphere of the kingdom became better and peaceful because of his change. Time passing by, the good deeds of Rahwana poisoned her mind. She became to think about Rahwana since then but on the other hand, she didn’t want to cheat her husband, Rama. It was more than three years since she had been kidnapped by Rahwana. Sinta was wondering why Rama as her husband didn’t save her life. She was busy talking to herself, did not Rama love her anymore? And fortunately there no one else answered her question, only silence and fully anxiety in her heart and mind.

One day Rahwana asked Sinta, “Don’t you love me even though a bit? Do you? Could you remember me though only for a while as the man who you love?” She replied him, “I love you too, but I am the wife of Rama. If you truly love me, please bring me back to the place that you abducted me and let me come together with my husband in his palace.” The words just came out from her mouth like a mantra that fully bewitched Rahwana soul. He realized these words that he had been waiting for since long time ago.The magic words that changed his behaviors to be the nicer person, so that Sinta could love him as his. Rahwana said, “If it is what you want, as a knight I will compete for one by one with Rama. If he can defeat me, I will return you to him.”

Day by day Sinta was waiting for Rama’s arrival and the moment came. Rama arrived with his army and would save her life. However, Rahwana knew this time would come, he was happy to welcome it. Bravely Rahwana greeted Rama, “I just want you to know, I love her Rama!! I will do anything for her the wonderful woman who I love with all my heart. I am not like you who married her because of prevailing the contest. All my deeds that you think to agitate for you are actually my effort to get my love back.”

And the battle couldn’t be avoided. With the help of Hanuman, Rama managed to defeat Rahwana and successfully killed him. Ultimately, Sinta was back to be his. Sinta was happy and running into Rama’s embrace. Out of expectation of Sinta, Rama ignored her. It was because he felt suspicious that Sinta had been touched by Rahwana since she was kidnapped. Many times Sinta explained to Rama that she had never been touched by him. She was pure as Sinta before being seized. Unfortunately, Rama didn’t believe at all with what her saying. To make Rama believed in her sanctity, she decided to throw herself into an ember. But it couldn’t kill her because she was still pure. Seeing this fact, Rama accepted her again.

In another place, the soul of Rahwana was crying aloud for the sake of love seeing the fact above. He was asking to the fate why it didn’t choose him to be the one who had Sinta as his love. If he had joined the contest as Rama did, he could have been the winner and married Sinta. He knew that Rama’s power was lower than him and big chance for him to trump the competition. Rahwana felt so sad to see the fact that Sinta chose a man who didn’t trust her 100%. As for Rahwana, it didn’t matter that Sinta was pure or not, he would love her no matter what.

In another unseen corner, Sinta sobbed painfully because Rahwana died and she wouldn’t see him anymore, he wouldn’t inhale air as she did. In the bottom of her heart, she was losing a man who loved her without but, Rahwana.

“God, If my love to Sinta is forbidden. So why do You magnificently build it in the bottom of my heart and soul” -Rahwana-

The moral of this story:

There are always two sides of people’s, the dark and bright one.  The figure of Rahwana has the dark one without knowing the bright side of his.I personally before reading this story ascertained Rahwana was cruel, having bad deeds because kidnapping of Rama’s wife as well as having a frightened face. But after I read it, I just found out the good side of his, faithfulness to the person that he loves.

So, don’t judge a book by its cover.

The colors of life

Life is a journey and you hold the key. Do you agree that life is a journey? And it started from we were born till we leave the world or in other words be buried in a graveyard. We are the holder of the key of our life. We have our own self. So, we have rights to specify our own future besides life itself is a gift from God, thus do good to it.

I do believe there will be always colors in life, we can say these happiness and sadness, ease and hardship times, presence and loss moments, leave or left ones who we love and so forth. It is impossible to shun for sort of these things in life. We can laugh happily if we get what we want but instead of crying and despair if we fail to hold them. We feel the world colorful when we are in love with someone and in the contrary it can be dark without any lights when we are left by her/him. So, there are only the simple pieces of colors in our lives and happen for ones, no exception.

Are you convinced enough that we are the one who can decide what the color is? We have the power to alter the dark color (read sadness) into the colored ones (read happiness). Supposed, we despair about losing the job that we dream for, we can change it as a kindness for us. And then the next question is how can it be? We need to do is to look down for the people who are much miserable than us (disable people) and without realizing we will thankful for what we got or why we do not try to be an entrepreneur? It is not bad idea right? Another case, we can transform a dejected feeling to become a benefit, and the same question how come? We need to set up our mind that it can be an opportunity to meet the better person who much more compatible with our personalities, just try to open your heart.

PS. The picture taken during the site visit to Surabaya, it is situated in Kenjeran (one of the tourism destination there). Though dark cloud was coming but the colors of roof still looked magnificent. The question is what will you see first the dark cloud or the colors roof?

Wanna emphasize the initial sentence in the first paragraph that we are the holder key of our lives. We are only the person who can determine that we can happy or sad, fight or stop to chase our dreams or achieve our goals and so forth.  The prominent is always to see anythings positively and put gratitude for all occurrences. There are always the reasons behind why these happen and wisdom values for us in order to be a better person. I can say that “I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination and I have learned more from pain that I could have ever learned from pleasure”.

For my dear friends, have a wonderful Friday to all of you

No Title, Contemplation Only

For couple days ago I read an article about the happiness senses. I did it due to my wanting to share my thoughts about in the regular bulletin of my office in order to improve my writing skill. Fortunately, there was not only the meaning of happiness itself but some stories as well, so how lucky I was. However, I will not write those stories here that it does mean I will be plagiarist and I don’t want to be.

The thing that I want to share is that a sentence said “Everything happens for a reason”. I do believe that some of us will disagree with those words and the others do conversely. I myself am one of the people who agree and believe it.

Let me take an example that derives from our daily. Often times we feel mad or disappointed with our lives that are not in line with our objectives or goals. We often blame the conditions that make us to be a looser and also God for the worst. But, after sometimes when our emotional is back to normal and we can think clearly what just happened then we realize that it was the best thing that we needed at that time. At least we can learn from that occurrences or experiences to make us be better person than before. It can also be categorized as happiness. Do you know why? It is because we can accept the things that we should, as well as always be grateful for. The heartfelt is important here.

In additional it is notable to highlight that we cannot only be passive and just be receptive for what God gives. First, we should make effort to achieve our goals or visions in life, taking action. Seeking to do the thing that we can execute by ourselves maximally, than let God finishes the rest. Need to put it in our mind because human has limitations. Therefore if in the end, if the results are not fit with our wanting, it does mean God has the certain better purposes for us and we will be easy to accept the reality and no depression feeling. In the contrary, if the results are corresponding with our objectives or goals, just put gratitude manner for the Grace of Him, so that you will never be smug with others and be humble person.

Wanna put another good quote “Life is like a camera, just focus on what is important. Capture the good times. Develop from the negative and if things do not work out then take another shot.”

Have a good week for you all, my dear friends here

Do I Lose????

Today, I just replaced my old profile picture in MyEC. I chose the profile that described my thought at that moment. “Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn” and this words attracted my attention much. An idea crossed my mind then, why there was not written “Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose”?  I thought it was matching enough with the original one.

The thoughts of ones will influence the words or actions that possibly to be taken or respond with the circumstance around their. I believe, for the optimistic people there will no lose, only learning from the mistakes or disappointments from their experiences. So, there will be a wisdom from those occurrences in order to avoid the same mistakes as in the past. It is generalized, not for specific the cases.

The meaning of lose itself can be interpreted differently one another. Some of us will perceive like a tremendous sadness or miseries, but for some these could be a part of their life journey and they can accept it as it is. I know the last one is for the great people, I need learn to be like them and it is hard for sure, not as simple as to be done.

Buut, buut….hufftt, anyway I always try to put in my mind that God will replace what He has taken out from me with the better ones. Once again it is not easy to be practiced, I guarantee it, but we cannot do nothing to change the occurrences that is disappointed or unhappiness to ourselves. So, accept it as it is and try to be positive responding to the conditions. Try to walk outside of my place and look at the sky, I can still see the sky is large as if describing my heart (just trying to be) which can resettle the inconvenient feelings and changed these to be a good zeal.

"Keep the faith, the most amazing things in life tend to happen right at the moment you are about to give up hope"

There is no obvious messages that I want to share. It is only the expression of my feelings at the time.

The valued messages from a simple story

Last week, I met my old friend from the previous company. It was likely small reunion that we arranged spontaneously. In the past we often did hanging out, having dinner or lunch and social activities sometimes. At that time we had dinner together in the mall nearby my place. It was wonderful, it was not because the place or the food but the valued messages that I got from her story.

During the dinner we talked about many things. Just information she is an engineer besides has the side job as the lecture at the private university in Jakarta. The talking was flowing naturally until she told me when she involved in the educational activities called “Kelas Inspirasi” (Inspiration class) in the city nearby Jakarta, an old women came to her and said “ You must be Ochi (my friend’s name)” and my friend nodded her head as a sign of confirmation. The old lady continued with her words “You could forget about me, but I cannot. Do you remember my son’s name? He is Agus and right now he is only waiting time to depart to Netherland taking his Master in Machine Engineering”. My friend couldn’t say nothing and got surprised and puzzled as well with her explanation. She kept talking “Do you know Ochi that what he got right now because of you, you has inspired him to be an engineer and with the book that you gave to him making him interested in the engineering world and eagerly to reach his dream.” My friend just couldn’t say anything just imagining how come only through the book that she gave to the old lady’s son could bring someone to get his dream.

Unfortunately the story not stop at that part, it has continuation. My friend adores the old woman as well. Ochi told me that the lady is one of the inspiring people in Indonesia. The lady has built a library in her village and it has been developing with more than hundreds of books which coming from herself or donations from volunteer. The surprised thing is that she was not well educated person, she only graduated from elementary school and not from the rich family. At that time she was a “jamu” seller, “jamu” is a herbal drink to cure the light disease and it can increase our stamina as well. But the point that I want to show is her vision. She has the goal to develop her village to become advanced and insightful with reading activities. The limited of fund and her restrictions couldn’t make her to give up to achieve her goals. It was proved by her ideas to bring all the books during selling the jamu taking by bicycle. Those books were derived from hers at that time. With the passage of time, she has been harvesting what she has planted since long time ago. Right now her village has become the pilot village of literacy. The bicycle which is a witness of her struggle during that time displaying on the wall in her library room.

Could you imagine that? I was so impressed with the lady, because I realize who I am. I may say that I have education beyond her but I haven’t had couragement and visions as big as hers to bring goodness in my environment. I envy her so much, I want to be like her buuut……so many reasons from myself that hinder me to do something for my neighborhood.

From my story above, there are two morale messages that I want to present to the readers here.

  1. The trivial deeds that we do sincerely and often times we ignore it, could be an inspiring and encouragement things for others. So, keep do the good things around you, even though you will never know the sincere smiles that you give for other could motivate them without you realize.
  2. Doing good things are not always waiting us capable. It is only the matter of wanting to do and having a will.  The will power must come first and then it can motivate us to do something forward that could enlighten or bring a goodness around us. The will power can make impossibility to become possibility.

If you have different point of views about the moral messages with mine or having the similar story as mine, you can share here as well and I would thank you for dropping by and reading my story. I wish your kindness to also correct my writing as my learning of English. Enjoy!

No Title (Only The Story of Mine)

It has been long time, I didn’t post any blogs here (I think almost 2 years, oh my….:D). Often times I missed this chance, but unfortunately I didn’t have any good idea to write it down besides the lack of my time, too. And right now, I have an inspiration from my own experience and want to share it with you. About the title, there was none in my head, the idea of the story was popping up immediately without I knew the correct title I should put here and here we go.

Couple days ago I had small reunion with my old friends from university. I myself one of the person who initiated to gather them in one event, it could be the incredible moment considering some of us had never met after we graduated from the college, so I didn’t want to miss it when the good opportunity came, surely. Some friends of mine came to Jakarta which the city I have been working now and coincidental most of them had some business in Jakarta, too. So, I contacted some friends who live in Jakarta to guest them.

The day of the great moment came, it was in the work days and we scheduled to meet after office hours. I was counting down the time waiting the event, I was so excited. Actually, the distance from my office to the venue where we would meet is not too far and I wanted to go there by Gojek (it is kind of online motorcycle for public transportation), so I didn’t need to waste my time in traffic jam (just information that Jakarta is one of the most traffic city in Indonesia and even top 10 in the world) and could get in the venue on time, at least.

Gojek, the online motorcycle transportation

The clock showed close to 5 pm, I prepared myself to leave the office. I took my phone out from my small case bag and started to open the “Gojek” application and ready to order a biker. Unfortunately, my phone’s application was not working well at that time (and It is rare happened to me), I failed so many times (more than two times), the worse was time showed almost 6 pm o’clock and I was so worried that I could be late because I was one of the event’s committee. I cursed the condition and I realized that I had to take action immediately to avoid retardation. So, I decided to take another public transportation, bus “Trans Jakarta (the bus whom has its way)”, I thought I would save my time and could arrive at the venue on time.

Trans Jakarta's Bus

Without wasting any time more I chose “Trans Jakarta” to deliver me to the agreed place, I had to walk to the bus shelter and then transited and getting in the bus after that (I needed to transit till 3 buses), it would take time again. Honestly, It was so dilemma for me, one side I was so afraid to take a wrong decision and the other hand I didn’t want to be late arriving there. Within the hope that my choice was not wrong and then I went to Trans Jakarta’s shelter. Thank God, He was still in my side me giving me His bless, I got the empty buses and no need to stand up till I arrived to the meeting point, besides the time to travel was no longer as I imagined before. I was the one who came earlier than others, and I could arrange anything that were needed during the event. The end.

The moral message I got from my experience above is:

We are as human being so often having a perfect plan doing this or do that, but……often times also the facts say differently. We must bear a sad, disappointed or even angry if our goals are not achieved. We think, these shouldn’t happen because we prepare them well before the day, we curse the conditions, other people and even God, sometimes. Eventually we only can accept them as the fact, that's all. The one thing that we do unconsciously is thinking negatively that if we don’t actualize what we have planed we will be failed. But, often times too, God has a beautiful purposes for us without we expected before.

My contemplation refers to my experience above is I believe what we have already had right now are the best for us from God, of course after we do the best to achieve our objectives or goals first. So, if during the life’s journey we don’t get what we have dreamed for or planed, just believe that God prepares the better things or ways to us, you just need to put positive thinking in your mind and be patient over all.

Dancing in the Rain

“Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life, keep the faith and it will be worth in the end.”

This blog is inspired by friend of mine on myEC. So I thought this is the right time to connect his experience with the quote above. I try to simplify this quote and link it with our daily occurences. So here we are.

Do you know usually a rainbow comes after heavy rain?or do you know dawn appears after the darkness and then sun rises immediately. Now, the question is, what is the correlation between those facts and the quote?

So, if you face a difficult time or have a hard problem, then you feel want to disappear from the earth going to the unknown place, but you go nowhere. No need to worry, it is like a hint that your problem will be over. The important thing is keeping to think positively. Though it is tough, keep the faith in your heart that there is no immortality things in this world except The Great Creator, God.

Have you ever read the book “Secret” that wrote by Linda Bryne in 2006? It was the best seller at that time. The book mentioned, there is a law attraction in the universe that the positive thoughts will attract the positive things too. This is like a magnet. We must do to only think positive. It will prevail for all aspect in our lifes like wealthy, career health and so on. We need to repeat our dreams (wealthy, good career, good study etc) in the certain times necessarily for the good result, and let’s see what will happen to us, but I want to emphasize that if there is negative thoughts coming into our mind though it minor scale, it will distruct the Law attraction process itsef. What I mentioned briefly above is the gist of book. You could discover furthermore of it.

Did you not aware that you ever or often times said “Oh my God I can’t stand anymore with this matter, I don’t want to life in this time, it is unbearable to me?” Maybe there are lots of words having the similar meaning with what I exampled. And what would happen in the next day, next week, next month, next year after we faced the hardest time? We would smile or laugh whilst remembering those ovcureces and would say “If I couldn’t get the bad experiences, I thought I have never been like this”. See, it is onlybthe matter of time. The second quote which I have put already as the title of this blog is “Life isn’t about waiting the storm to pass but it is about lehow to learn dancing in the rain”. So, be strong and keep doing the best. Face the life, enjoy the life, and be grateful in life. And let’s dance in the rain. Would you?

You could share your experiences here about “how could you overcome the hardest time in your life?”, if you don’t mind for sure. Me and others would be glad to know those and could take a goodness as well from them.

I am aware, there is so many questions in my blog, pardon me then :D....

Have a lovely day for you all :)

Can We Do?

I like anything which has smell of motivation whether are books, quotes (like this one topic I arise here), stories and so on. I realize the lives are not easy what a motivator have said :D…Why we didn’t it make easier. How we could do this? As my understanding is just be a simple person and put positive thinking in your mind. It is a short message but has deep philosophy.

Let me to take an example in work place. Did you often get words from colleagues as “Hey, let me do this, your ability are not fit this task.” or “You are not quite experienced in this field so please let the other do this work” or they didn’t talk to you but they behaved like they underestimated you by their way look at you. These are painful right?

Then please see the quote above. What could you take from this? Yes, I hope it is helpful to encourage us keeping moving not stopping. What the kind of moving here? It is action that shows our effort to prove to ourselves not to other that we can do the things that they are thinking or they have thought we couldn’t do. See the bold words previously, we need to prove to ourselves, if we do that for ones I thought we would be stagnant at what they want, but if we don’t do for, we will push ourselves to an unlimited grade that we want. The last one has a higher point surely.

We could consider of our inconvenient circumstance above like a boost factor, it means we could get a chance to develop ourselves to be a better person. Life itself is like a wheel of bicycle, there is always possibility for us to be at the bottom or at the top of the wheel, and the thing that we need is still scull the bicycle. And at the moment let me try to translate the nice quote from my native language ”We could build a wall from bricks that people throw to us”. See, my understanding with the attached quote above is the same.

Many times I said in my comments that I wrote on other bloggers here, that the sort of thing is not easy to be done. So, please see this following sentence and choose one of both “we can do it though it is difficult or it is difficult but we can do it.” And my question is what would you chose then? Your answer will describe briefly of your mindset to see your matters in your life (please note, it is only a simple case).

A few days ago I took a look at a posting from friend of mine that raised about the LEADERSHIP topic. This theme was illustrated by a photo of swarm of wolves. It took my interest in the message that tried to be showed by the author. The photo represented that the wolves were considered as a wild animal and they never took an educational institution could apply the tremendous leadership in their group.

Description of the photo :

A wolf pack: the first 3 are the old or sick, they give the pace to the entire pack. If it was the other way round, they would be left behind, losing contact with the pack.

In case of an ambush they would be sacrificed. Then come 5 strong ones, the front line. In the center are the rest of the pack members, then the 5 strongest following.

Last is alone, the Alpha.

He controls everything from the rear. In that position he can see everything, decide the direction. He sees all of the pack. The pack moves according to the elders pace and help each other, watch each other.

From the photo above that has inspired me to take part in Expector Smith’s Writing Challenge, although I believe that my writing is not a new topic on myEC. I just try to write the blog in this theme corresponding with my style and my thoughts. The theme draw my attention to dig furthermore categorizing of a leader itself. In my religion has mentioned that everyone is a leader, it means, we are a leader minimal for ourselves. Why?because in reality, life itself is full of choices and we are the one who will decide our directions or destinations in the future.

I will more focus for a leadership in workplace, where the spirit of leader is needed both in management of company (the big scope) and within a project team (the small scope). Due to good leadership skill in a company can make a good profit as well as take company to the bright future. Basically everyone can be a boss but they are not necessarily a leader. So, what is the meaning of leader? Is it the same with the boss? This examples below that will make a difference of both :

Boss :

  • It is strong contrast  between the subordinate and the boss. It can describe clearly that subordinate have to do anything as their boss has ordered. Obey and comply.
  • Tend to dictate to subordinate about working plan that he/she already set up. It means the boss will not accept an input or an aspiration from their subordinates.
  • When his/her subordinates make a mistake he/she will be angry without providing solutions.
  • He gives a command to subordinate and let their executing his/her order without knowing what they do actually for sometimes

Leader :

  • There is no gap between the leader and the subordinate (but respect each other still need to keep). It create a harmonious relationship of both in order to achieve their goals.
  • Encourage or full support as well as give an opportunities to his/her subordinate to develop their good potentials.  It has meaning that the leader will accept the good aspiration from his/her subordinate.
  • If his/her subordinates make a mistake, he/she will rebuked and make a good suggestion to them so that they never do the same errors in the future.
  • Without he/she realize, he/she has inspired the people around him/her and give the positive things for work environment.

The examples above only a piece of the differences between a boss and a leader that these perceive by most of us in the workplace.

Nowadays so many trainings that are held to establish the leadership skill, which is in my humble view that theories are taught more similar one another of trainers. But all of them are the external factors that can sharp our leadership skill, the major and important factor is our experiences( I will not say it depends on ages, this are different things). Why I said this?because I believe we can be a good leader if we ever felt be subordinate and by the time we have knowledges  about how to recognize and how to handle the characters of people around us as well as it will form our vision indirectly.

In large or small scale of groups, these absolutely need a harmonious relationship between leader and subordinates because of it can boost the sense of togetherness, good cooperation and mutual trust to achieve their goals. These can be gained if there is a good leader in it who has a good vision not only a mission. So, both of the leader and subordinates must respect each other, because I believe there will be no a leader or bos if there are no subordinates and it should stand in vice versa.

Do you agree with me what I mentioned above? Please share your opinion or your experience if any related to this topic.

Maybe my blog’s challenge is lil bit different from other and is categorized a bit heavy topic and not many people like this topic as well, I have to confess it :D. Hope you enjoy reading my blog. Thanks for your precious time to visit and reading my blog.

Happiness

One day there was a young man sitting and blank gaze leading to a lake. He had travelled to many places to find a happiness, but anything or anyone couldn’t make him happy for long time. In silence, suddenly he heard a nasal voice from behind.

"What are you doing here, young man?" an old man who lived around the lake asked to that boy. A young man turned and said, “I am tired Sir, I have walked to many places searching for a happiness, but I can not find it. I don’t know where else the places that I should go to look for” he sighed and the gloom shadowed his face.

“There is a garden over there, begone and try to catch a butterfly. Then I will answer your question”, said an old man. Even though vacillate fulfilled a young man’s heart and mind, he went toward a garden. Arriving there, he was amazed when seeing a beautiful garden filled with trees and flowers that blooming and decorated with butterflies fluttering.

From a distance, an old man saw that boy slinked concerning his target. HAP!But unfortunately it was unsuccessful .He tried to chase butterflies from other directions. HAP!failed again. He still kept running, hoofed a grass, flowers and bushes. But none of the butterflies were successfully captured by him.

An old man approached and stopped that boy. “Are these your ways to pursue the happiness?Engaged running around to gain your target but bumping everything aimlessly and justified many ways to obtain your goal as well as being ignore of any damage that you made.”

He continued and said firmly, “Son, look for the happiness like catching butterflies. You don't need to capture the butterflies physically, let them comply the universe according to its function that make this world beautiful with their colours. The thing that you need is to understand the beauties of their colour and their motion in your mind and ensure to keep them in your heart.”

Still continued his words, “Similarly with the happiness, it is not a thing that can be grasped and stored in a place. It doesn't go to anywhere but be in everywhere. So, maintain it as well as possible, show it anytime with gratitude and without you realize the happiness will come more often into you. Do you get it?”

A young man felt astonished with those explanation and suddenly his face shone bright, he said “ Thank you Sir, It was a very valuable lesson to me, I will go home and bring happiness in my heart….”.

An old man raised his hand. Shortly, a butterfly perched on his fingertip and flapped their wings, they emitted the beauty of God’s creation. The colors of their wings were so attractive, as beautiful as the happiness for those who are able to conceive of it.

The essence of this story is :
Every human being desires happiness. However they oftentimes are so busy looking for it, without feeling the sense of happiness itself. The happiness doesn’t go anywhere but be in everywhere. Happiness can appear in every place, every feeling and certainly every heart that is always grateful.

  • What do you think is the best section in EC that has made your English learning improved? Why?

Let me say, I am a new member (an active member) since last last year, although administratively I have registered since 2013. The first time I joined this site, I never explored it futher. I rarely signed in it and only participated for chat  section for bit, it had ended up for around 2 months of  the last year, I found a new atmosphere here, at MyEC. What is that?

One of them is the blogging part, before I was dragged into it unconsciously, I just commented on some discussions and some blogs, not more than that in order to practice my English skill (I think my English is soo poor, and I need to improve it through active commenting in those sections in myEC, just confident by myself that I have till this time…:D and try hard learning from mistakes). The time came when one of my friends in this site told me that I could be achieve my goal through reading blogs more often, and I am trying.

Time goes by, I began to realize that I was falling in love more and more with this world, I even though I need extra effort to refresh and relearn my grammar as well as find out new vocabularies by using the dictionary and keep them in my mind. Now, I have 5 posts of blog  including this, I can say these are not much enough if comparing with others, and those are far from perfect, I realize that my grammar is poor and limited vocabularies. My points are “never give up and keep running to achieve your goals because the extra effort will not betray the results”. So, here I am, a learner who really enjoy exploring this site especially in blogging part.

Actually, a lots of sections in myEC can be digged for a learners such us videos of learning, quizzes, games and many more. Thus, please for new members who reading this post accidentally (hopefully..), explore and discover an interesting things for your English improving, you have found already the right place for that. Start from now and never surrender till the end (seriously expression :)).

  • What is the relevance of learning English in your life, in your society and in your environment?

Just want to you know (a readers), I hated English since I was in college. I intended to avoid the English things in many ways for example, I preferred to read a references that I needed for my tasks and thesis in my native language (Bahasa Indonesia). Yes, that I was, but the condition have changed for around 2 years ago, my new company have encouraged me to improve my English skill indirectly. I am an Engineer, so I just thought at that time I didn’t need this skill deeply, because I only did analyses, making sketches of designs, and then reporting in Bahasa, that’s all. But in fact, English can support my career for the future well.

So, I am here again, the strong reason why I am here, not only I can improve my English skill but I have new friends from all the world and mostly from them have the same aim with me (based on my quickly observation some of them have profession as English teacher or fluently in English, so how lucky I am….:)). Absolutely, all of them have the different cultures, religions, languages etc. The important thing that I have to put in my mind is respecting to them within those diversities. We (all of us) need to do that because MyEC is created to build the encourage circumstances for a learners feeling comfort and convenient in order to achieving their goals in English improvement.

Today is Mother's Day in My Country

What do you know about Mother’s Day?

Mother’s Day is commemorated to appreciate the important roles of mother within family and social environment. Every 22 December Indonesia celebrate this day as Mother's Day, the date itself was determined by Soekarno (The first President of Indonesia) based on Indonesian’s histories and now I will not go into detail for the chronicle of Indonesia related to this theme. Generally some countries such as Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Malaysian etc, celebrate it on Sunday the second week of May (source derived from Wikipedia)

The meaning for Mother’s Day itself tends to express our affection and gratitude to mother by giving them a special presents, a flowers, special event as well as  freeing them from daily activities, especially for the day.

If anyone asking my opinion about it, I will state “I don’t need celebrate Mother’s Day - annually”. All of you will be furrowing your eyebrows after you heard it. Yes, my reason is “Everyday is a Mother’s Day”.

Thus, What do you think about Mother’s Day?Is that the same with my opinion or not?

Please share here.

All About Coffee

Coffee is one of favoured drinks by men and women all over the world including me. In a day I usually drink minimum 2 cups of it, in the morning and after lunch time as well as possibility in the evening I drink it again only for pleasure.

Let’s study further the advantages of coffee

Coffee conceive a substance is called caffeine which has the controvert work mechanism with endosin hormone. This hormone is a compound that lies in the brain cells and inducing people fall asleep whilst caffeine treats the person keep awake, feeling refreshed, happy (especially for addicted people), faster heart beating will be leading blood pressure rises and  contraction of liver to release sugar into the blood circulation so that extra energy formed.

And then, what is the disadvantages of coffee?

The biggest impact is addicted, herein means drinking coffee only for pleasure not for necessity, moreover it can cause insomnia, nervous, headache, increasing stress and tension. If any question to me related to these signs, I have never felt these after I have drunk a coffee, assuming it depends on health circumstances  of people who drink it.

The researchers say if we drink coffee more than 5 (five) cups in a day, it will be increasing the risks of the blood vessel wall damage.

So the conclusion is,

Coffee will bring benefit for us if we drink it 1-2 cups in a day, but drinking more than that will be treacherous for the health.

So, how about you?How many cups of coffee do you drink in a day?

I think readers here have ever heard about it, yes it was a one of miracles of world. Recently the temple is assigned as one of the world heritages by UNESCO.

Borobudur temple is the most famoust destination in Indonesia. If it is viewed by the typical of relief and construction can be categorized the Buddhist temple. It has totally 72 for stupa, excluding main stupa, wherein the Buddhist statue is inside of each stupas. The huge temple is constructed from stone blocks that has totally height of 42 meters.
