Hey dude, yourself. :)

I don't get called "dude" very much because so many of my immigrant students are so formal with teachers. Personally I love it. We are very informal in the USA and teachers and students are often friends. And in my classes I am especially informal and friendly with my students. We laugh a lot and have a good time. It is funny how that word became a slang for a friend. It originally was a man who dressed very formally and was a city dweller. The people in the country or in the Western USA used to call them dudes because they couldn't even ride a horse. Now-a-days the meaning is totally different. Sorry, I am always a teacher. Take care.,
