BLINDS

Marina works from nine in the morning until five in the afternoon. She lives alone in a rent flat on the Main Street, at the eighth floor, apartment D. She wakes up at 7'30, she has her breakfast and leaves her flat at eight fifteen wearing her bag, her coat and her worries. While the lift goes down, Marina uses the lift mirror to paint her mouth with a soft lipstick and leave the doorway running down the street where to the bus stop. After her workday she comes back in by bus to her room while the city turns black after the sunset.

Galino works from nine in the morning to five in the afternoon, he lives in the same build where Marina lives but at the seventh floor, apartment F. He wakes up at seven, he has his breakfast and leaves his flat at ten past eight wearing his bag, his coat and his worries and he takes the only lift in the build going to his job by the tube two blocks up the street. He works two doors next Galina's job. After his job he comes back to his block. He arrives five minutes before than Galina while the sunset is down.

Both spend half an hour looking to nowhere through the window glass, neat and tidy their apartments and go to sleep at eleven night, Galino five minutes before.

A day, while Marina and Galino were coming back to their each home from the bus and the tube station, the light of the city felt down. The darkness grew more than other times and the night growled with screaming sirens and yells. Galino took a shelter into a public phone, he was afraid of the people. At the same time Marina took cover in the same place for the same reason and they began to talk and felt in love. The night was too long for the city, but for Marina and Galino the night was very short. All tenderness and affection they had was spilt into the telephone cabin.

When the dawn was over, they heard the tower clock playing the bells. What's that? Said Marina and Galino, I'll arrive late at work! Said both at the same time. Each one in a hurry took their own running way to their jobs. But none of them said where they live, where they work, nor their telephone numbers.

They came back to their homes at hour. Galino five minutes earlier.

    • Thank you M.

have you seen Tara's Post(?) Writing Challenge #31: Mother's Day Story Contest

Although the theme is not my preferred, she's sharing a great site, maybe we could make some experiment there, would you like it?

Of course, if   s   could use it... hmmm, could be wonderful; a challange for his mind and his writing skills.

Send me an advice if he do something, please.

      x

Once I also wrote a story about a about blind man(actually I have just translated it from my language),and I shared it here:you can read it here

p.s.:I corrected some mistakes, what I think are incorrect, just the major ones, but all in all, I think your story is all right

...leaves the doorway running down the street where to the bus stop.

...she comes back in  by bus to her room while the city turns black after the sunset.

just one question:who is Galina?not Marina?--->He arrives five minutes before than Galina while the sunset is down.

    ...at eleven at night....
