Here's a delicious treat!

Broccoli and Shrimp Gratin

(tested & tasted)

(Actual photo when I cooked this)

Cook a special dish for yourself!

A special dish on the table will make the other members of the family happy as well.

**Ingredients

1 head broccoli cut into medium florets

about 1 pound small shrimps - boiled (optional)

1 tsp salt

4 tbsp (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, divided

3 tbsp all-purpose flour

2 cups hot milk

1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

1/4 tsp grated nutmeg

3/4 cup freshly grated Gruyere, divided

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan

1/4 cup fresh bread crumbs

** Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F

Cook the broccoli florets in a large pot of boiling salted water for 2-3 minutes, or until half done. Drain. Set aside.

In a medium  saucepan, melt 2 tbsp of the butter over low heat. Add the flour, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon for 2 minutes. Pour the hot milk into the butter-flour mixture and stir until it comes to a boil. Boil, whisking constantly, or 1 minute, or until thickened. Then,  off the heat, add 1 teaspoon of salt, the pepper, nutmeg, 1/2 cup Gruyere, and the (1/2 cup) Parmesan.

Pour 1/3 of the sauce on the bottom of an 8 by 11 by 2-inch baking dish (or your desired baking dish). Arrange the drained broccoli on top (garnished with prepared shrimp) and then spread the rest of the sauce evenly on top. Combine the bread crumbs with the remaining 1/4 cup of Gruyere and sprinkle on top. Melt the remaining 2 tbsp of butter in a microwave oven and drizzle over the gratin. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top is browned. Serve hot.

Hoping you'll love eating this. This is really delicious and creamy. And, healthy to eat too.

(I love eating this in the winter/cold season.)
