What we really need in our life?

Nowdays,people who working in the offices often get less money than people who do manual work,People who working in the ofices are refer to "white-collar"for the easy reason,that they always wear official-suit and tie to go to work,Such is human nature.So if we really need money why we willing to sacrifice far more money of becoming a "white-collar".
2.Status
Oposite,Someone is willing to sacrifice the privilege of becouming a white collor and go to do manual work,Such a curious situation to many people,NO,They are right,perhaps they do manual work for living,family,friends and other people who needs help.But sometimes few people they are not,they only want to rise thiers status,It is also human nature.
So in our life,what we really need? does anyone can give me some advises?

Dear Wayne! Thanks for starting this interesting and useful discussion. Your statements are correct, but this problem is much more complicated. I agree with Bimal, people's attitude to money is different. However, I can't agree there are only two diametrally opposite acceptions of reality. There is at least the third. I have to admit, I have never been poor but I do know how it feeels! After the collapse of the USSR many people who had been well-paid, respected and so on, found themselves overboard and a lot of them couldn't stand it! But those who survived and became well-secured started helping others and the country. I can't say they all did it but many of them. My American husband and his friends were wealthy people but they invested in building of public schools, hospitals and so on. I am giving you these examples to confirm my point of view: it is possible to be wealthy and generous, charitable at the same time. I will not invent a bycicle if I say: "The more money we have, the more possibilities are to use it". The question is how to use it and it depends on our priorities that reflect our mentality. Money shouldn't be an end in itself. To be wealthy is very pleasant. Money gives us power, but on the other hand, it gives us feeling of permissiveness. Those who can stand that temptation remain full-fledged members of the society and can give much to this world.

Tanya!yes, I admit that this is a complicated issue! At times, my English knowledge is not enough to mould it into correct wording. I am sorry about it! I am a person who listens to opinions, views, ideas of others, and also I believe that the different views in the society should be collided, and thereby most practical solutions could be found. I believe that the people are different in the way they think about the life or the world. Some people think that it is possible to obtain everything in this world with money, and on this belief, they try their best to earn money by using hook or crook. The prime objective of this group of people is to dream about money from morning to mid-night. They have no limit in generating money, and they don’t worry about the ethics, social values, social justification, humanity and so forth in this journey of money-making. They think that everything in this world should be marketed or converted into currency. They develop new theories, concepts based on their insight and try their best to implement them on the society.
There is a small group of people in the world that analyse the life in a different way. They think that we need money only for living, but we don’t have to live for money. They don’t say others to stop earning money and go back to the Stone Age. They say that there should be a limit in earning money, and it is impossible to obtain everything in the world with money. They are very much concern about the ethics, humanity, future of this planet, social values and so forth. They do not like to go behind the current ultra-consumption-life style that is a real burden to this world in all aspects. They spend a simple life style and are pragmatic about the life. They never ever ask for others to use bullock carts instead of the modern vehicles, but they ask for people to give a meaningful definition to the life on the earth.
Now, there are two thoughts in front of us, and every mature person could decide which thought is most reasonable.
