  • Well, i'm a vietnamese, and actually i don't know what to say about this matter. You know, although the war is over, there are many people in Vietnam can't forget the terrible time which they had to go through. There are a lot of pain to be left. Imagine that without the war, what the world would be? I've no idea 'cuz we all know that can't be real. So sad!
  • Hi Bill.
    Long time no see you.
Yes, I agree and like a thing, "There is often a difference between what the government does and what the people want". Really, It is true. Government is a country's people representative. But they are always thoroughly understand people of them country or other country. So they make mistakes. Sometime it is very bad. At that moment, the people must show to them see by every method.
  • I am an American. When this war started I was a teenager. We thought we were helping South Vietnam at the time from aggression from the North. But as time passed I began to see this as an evil war. Of course, I now hate war in general and find it to always contain evil on both sides. There rarely is a good side and a bad side. Both sides do evil things. I was against the war as I saw people being killed on both sides and the spraying of agent orange was an atrocity against people and nature. After a while this war became very unpopular in our country and it was hated by many. We don't hate our soldiers because they are following orders given by the government. They are sacrificing their lives for us. There is often a difference between what the government does and what the people want. An example of this is the last ten years experienced under the Bush administration and its aggressive military actions . I believe war is necessary only as a last resort for self-defense if all diplomacy doesn't work, but I do not support going to other countries to fight wars for self-interest as in Iran. But as far as the Vietnam war, I think we must learn from the past mistakes and move on to heal relations between our countries. I like the Vietnamese people and want them to do well. I find my Vietnamese students to be kind people. As we become a global world we need to find ways to handle our differences without war.
  • well, I do not much about this famous war between vietnam and america, but one thing is sure that a lot of young people died. Many songs, poems and tales have been written about it.
I have never known the real matter which caused this terrible war, i saw movies and read books, but at the end i have never understood this war .
I hope that the vietnamese survivors have forgiven that bad period.
    God bless everyone
  • The War bring to us the death, the heart-breaking. It is bad. I hate the war.
The Vietnam-America War is meaningless was. Why did America invade Vietnam. May be because to benefit of American government. Not for Vienamese nation.
More than 30 years, Vietnamese army and nation against American empire to sieze power.
Nowaday, Vietnam is peaceful. Vietnames nation is bypass to enter the world. My country have already to join hands with American for development of two countries. But we don't forget the hear-breaking pass.
  • War never be a good thing
    people die for that

    Isn't that hurt ?
America - vietnam war was over but somewhere in our planet still has war
So sad for the children those live their childhoods in the war.
  • The war was over 34 years, I'm really glad because It's over. When I was a child, I usually live a cave to avoid bullets, I heard sound of gunshots anywhere, I saw the fallen images on the TV, news, and magazines everyday. I very affraid the war. That 's all
  • During the Vietnam war, between 1962 and 1971, the American military has sprayed 77 million litres of chemical defoliants in South Vietnam as part of a defoliant programme to deny cover for their Vietnamese opponents. One of the chemicals sprayed was Agent Orange, which contains 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (or dioxin). Dioxin is known to be the most deadly man-made toxin, because it can cause certain types of cancer and a host of other diseases. I don't know what to say about this matter. The war happened long time ago, but its bad effect still exist. Many people in my country have to suffer cancer and serious diseases. it's a huge sorrow. I'm very sad whenever I see disabled children from dioxin. Let me send you some pictures about this.
