Your Suggestions, Questions, Comments.

In this discussion I propose you to post your suggestions about improvements of our game as well as your questions if there any. Besides, you can leave different comments here .

To begin with, I'd like to hear your ideas about how to arrange the discussions here. I am unsure I am able to delete the discussions. So, if we play each round in a new discussion, we will run out of the limit very soon.

I propose to start a new discussion every month like in the blog. I will be glad to hear your ideas.

  • Dear Danny,

Firstly, you are a native speaker and also an expert teacher. Thus, I am very happy to hear about my level from you. It encourages me for writing more blogs on English Club.

Secondly, I agree with you 100% that I write about Iranian proverbs (or idioms, sayings) in form of blogs. Please, you know English Club sends me an English idiom every day. Sometimes, I am surprised because I see that we have these idioms in Farsi language too, and so I can understand that cultures are very close to each other.

    Thank you and best wishes,

  • Dear Bijan,

first, I have to admit, your English is not that poor. It is good intermediate, you explain your mind very clearly.

As to our games, they are for everybody. There are 12 different categories in Jeopardy and only one of them is language. Real Jeopardy is the game for intellectuals, but our version allows to google.

As to the Wheel Of Fortune, you need to know only English alphabet to play it and it improves your vocabulary.

I like your idea, but it is not a game. If you start it, it will not be popular as most of our members have no idea about English proverbs.

However, I think this idea will work as a blog if you give your Iranian proverbs (in English), explain their meanings and ask others to tell the proverbs from their languages.

  • Dear Danny,

As you may know, my level is low-intermediate because of this I can see subjects in this group are a bit difficult for me.

Thus, I have one suggestion. My suggestion is about proverbs.

I can write about Iranian proverbs, and then you can tell us, is there any proverb like it in English language or not?

In other hand, you compare Iranian proverbs in English language. Iran's culture (popular culture) is rich.

    Best wishes,

  • Dear Muskan, the score in Jeopardy depends on a few factors:

    1. if it is a welll-known fact or not.

    2. if we can google it or not.

    3. the way of asking your question. You can ask about some regular thing but make your question hard to be answered.

    4. if you see that others can't find the answer, you can raise your score.

If you look through our previous games, you will see how we do it here or you can always ask me or my wife Tanya what to do in this or that situation.

  • Dear Mishaikh! I think you like the current game, the Wheel, more as you always take part in it. As I have just said, we may ask the opinions of others or we can play  both games at once in different discussions. It is for you all to decide. I am not a conservative person. I can come up with some new game. I am waiting for your constructive proposals about what to do.

  • Dear Onee! Thanks for expressing your opinion. I agree that Jeopardy is much more interesting. It is the game for erudites while the currect game is for everyone who knows the alphabet. On the other hand, such kind of a game is more useful for English learners as I have added one more discusssion where they can practice using the guessed words. However, I don't mind returning  Jeopardy as it is my favorite game in my real life. In fact, it is for you all to decide what game to play. We can ask other members of the group and it is very easy to do. I can start one more discussion and send a message asking all the players to choose which game they would like to play.

    What about that?

  • Variety in any game of learning attracts the participants and their interest. Good idea. Let's go ahead.
  • Smart Game!  :)

  • My dear teacher,,

I miss the game like we did the first time here. "Let's play Jeopardy"

    The reasons are...

    1) We can join everytime without waiting the other participant.

    2) Many things we will learn since we directly try to find the answer.

    3) Many participants in this group prefer this game to the current game,,  in my opinion.

Though sometimes one or two days no members answer the question,  I think it is natural. So, I hope you don't mind at all. I know I was also leaving the game that time.  Pardon me, Sir. :)

  • Dear Mishaikh! We can always add some new category if others find it interesting enough!
