My dear friends! Being a professional teacher of English grammar, I decided to start this group to help you improve your knowledge of the subject. Many members asked me to do it and I do feel like that! So, I am planning to start a few discussions where you will be able to ask me questions or to have some practice. I'd also like to involve my husband, a native speaker, who is supposed to be helpful. So, how do you feel about such a group?

  • Dear Afro! It is incorrect. You should say "It takes an hour and a half to get to Dhaka"

  • Is it correct if I say...on the way to dhaka
Is it one and a half hour
  • Thanks.
  • Dear Afro! It is very easy to answer your question. RELIEVE is a verb, while RELIEF is a noun. Here is an example:

The taken pill relieved my headache.

I felt great relief after taking a pill.

  • Wanted to know the difference between relief and relieve with examples, please!

  • thank u so much,teacher Dan.
sorry for my mistake, the word is actually find. Ok,the answer is 'are'. thank you...
  • Dear Ka-ty! The correct sentence:

They found a large area where there were no trees.

Your main clause is in the past tense, so the subordinate clause must be in the past tense, too. TREES is a plural, so your predicate must be WERE.

  • sorry sir, could u please give the explanation too?for my recent question.thanks so much:)
  • tq, so much teacher Dan n Tanya.
    I have a question..again:)
They found a large area where there ___no trees.
what is the answer?' is' or 'are'...tq so much
  • Thank you.
