  • First of all I'd like to thank Onee for the interesting round and for the dessert, lol!

Now, my friends, I wonder how you read English if you don't know syllabification! Of course, the number of syllables depends on the letters we write. Look here:

a ta-ble read [teibl]. It is a two syllable word, both syllables are open that is why we read "a" as [ei]. However we pronounce only one syllable.

    Is it clear now?

  • Thank you, Mishaikh. :)

  • I will tomorrow morning.
  • Teacher Tanya,,

You hosted round 56 and Teacher Dan hosted round 55. I'd like Mishaikh to host Round 59. :)

    Dear Mishaikh,,

    We're expecting you.. :)

Dear Estanis,, lol.... You can just take grapes and strawberryes there. It's healthy and not that sweet. :D

Well, we've learned something good today. Thanks a lot Teacher Tanya, for participating and being our teacher.
  • First thing, CONGRATULATIONS Tanya!
As for syllables in English I've just realised I'm in a mess too, so doesn't it depends on its pronunciation??

Onee... thanks for this hosting and the dessert although I'm not so fond of sweets... haven't you got any chips and a beer? :)

  • Well, dear, the number of syllables depends on spelling (the letters we write). We do say [kəˈp'riz], but when we write this word, there are three syllables. Have you got  my explanations?

Yeah, Teacher. At first I thought it was the same as a moody person, but maybe not. So, I made it clear little by little. And I thought I will read it as 'kəˈpriːs', so I think it is two syllables. If, not, it means I don't know much about syllables. :D

  • Dear Onee, a lot of thanks for your delicious dessert.

The round was interesting and breathtaking! You have always been a perfect host but let me find some fault with you. I hope you will take it easy.

    1. The best hint you could have given us was to say your word defines some human action/behavior/motivation when he changes his mind without any reasons. You said it is a moody person and it misled me as I started looking for the words defining such a person.

    2. You said it is a two syllable word. Now we can see it is a three syllable one.

But in general, you made your best to give us the right hints.

Dear Onee, I don't know if I can host the next round according to your new rules. So, if I can't, i'd like to ask if Danny can host it instead of me. I have an interesting word you may not know. If not, let Mishaikh be the next host. Please, let me know
