I have a used portable dishwasher. My mother has a dishwasher that is built into the cabinetry like the one in the illustration. It has counter space on top of it making it less visable. My portable dishwasher is smaller, rolls around on wheels and can be tucked away in a corner then brought out to be used when needed.

For an older model, and passed on to me by a friend who didn't want it any more, it does a good job cleaning the dishes and glasses and other items I put in it. It has a short cycle if I have a small amount to wash, and a SUPER WASH that takes care of sticky dishes. It has a cycle that will heat the water even hotter then what it comes from the faucet.

The only downside is that it leaks. So I have towels down to catch the liquid. It could be that it is not sitting level on the floor. The dishwasher uses less water than washing by hand, but uses more electricity. Oh well :-\

I was excited to get it because I make a real mess washing dishes by hand. I splash water everywhere. I have a plastic apron to protect my clothes, but the water runs down it and drips on my jeans and I will be soaked from my knees down. I also have a bad ankle and if I stand on my feet too long my toes go to sleep. So, this little dishwasher comes in handy.

Thank you Dreamer Man for the complement! No, I am not a teacher. I retired from working at the telephone company after working 32 years. I still find part-time jobs to make a little extra money.

Even native speakers need practice. Sometimes I do well, sometimes I don't.
  • just come back again when you are looking for the right word about something in kitchen dont try to memorise all now
