The TOEIC Exam (by Educational Testing Service) is a good test of English knowledge for business, the workplace and international communication. I teach a lot of classes to expand the vocabulary of students who will take the TOEIC.
I recommend the Barron's Test Preparation book, "Essential Words For the TOEIC" and am currently using the 4th edition. This book takes 600 words and gives the student definitions and practice using the words and words that are related to these 600 words. The book is arranged into 50 lessons with 12 words in each lesson. I have typed up these words into a long list and would like you to look at them to see how many you know. You really should use the book, but here are the words for you to look at and think about. I have the number of the lesson from the Barron's book before each group of 12 words.
I am going to add the entire list but might have to edit it down if it is just too long to be useful.
