Topics On Relationships Between Countries

Here we may want to discuss treaties, wars, sanctions, trade, diplomatic pressure, invasions, blockades and other good and bad things that governments do to each other and their peoples. This is your forum to bring up a topic as long as you can tie it in with ethics ad ethical choices. I would like to offer up a rule or guideline for this forum. It is easy to find something that a government has done and can be considered wrong. I fully expect that we will get many such topics.I ask that in addition to the action you object to that you also add 2 or 3 other things along with it.1. Why you think that action was taken when the decision was made and what other choices there may have been?2. What would have been the more ethical choice in your opinion?3. What could be done now to resolve the problem in the most ethical way?Your comment can begin a new topic so that we have many going or you can respond to a topic by starting out with the @ symbol and the title of the topic (or name of the person) you are commenting on.

  • just have a money profit in the world , country and country that have to exist dispute, and the world have no peace.
  • Relationships between countries are complicated situation. If whoever treats the subject with colorful glass, there will not exist peace. If both look upon the issue fairly with most respect and look forward to the better future. Then there will be less conflicts between countries.I think that friendly treaty is the best way to resolve the problem between countries.Behold! How Jesus treated his enemies when he was dying. He prayed his enemies be forgiven for what they had done to him. What a bit heart!
  • Who knows Bob, we are not Cubans. ^_^

But the story is surprising. Is it true you can't go there? And also Bob, there is such a thing as business ethics too so I think it is unethical for us to deliberate on this matter.

    Bob said:
Big country invades little country because little country needs the protection of big country. Did little country really need protection or did their resources look too tempting to big country?

Long ago the US invaded Cuba when they were at war with Spain. Then the US was asked to leave Cuba and companies were taken over by the Cuban government. The companies were upset to lose their holdings in Cuba. The US still is at odds with Cuba and I can not go there as a tourist.
Does Cuba owe the US companies something for the land and property they seized? Is it ethical for them to keep those properties? Is it ethical to demand them back and punish the government of Cuba by restricting trade for taking them? These are all confusing political questions and I do not know the answers.

Do you know what is the right thing to do here?
