It is the word by which we are known or addressed to. Some of us are very careful about naming their children. If the name is good, it shows the good qualities of its bearer, and on the contrary, if the name is not good, it refers to undesired qualities of the person. This supposition is not correct all the time.
The name of a person can be "Shaker", and he is not necessarily a religious man. Other names like "loser", but its holder can be a successful person. My question, is it important to choose good names for our children?

Yes, of course. Most parents usually select a name with a positive meaning for their children because they put their hope in it. Why do they need to give a bad name to their children on purpose? I hope that all parents give good names to their children because it is their first present to their children. By the way, what is the meaning of your name "Dara"?

I wrote about this topic before in my blog. https://my.englishclub.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-your-first-name

Domo arigato Tam! Names with positive meanings are good and helpful for the children. They will put in their minds that positive states and they will try to build themselves accordingly. Tam, some parents imagine that by giving those horrible or bad names to their children will make them strong and courageous. As for my name, this is a long story. Let me answer the rest of the members and I shall come back to talk about my name. Thanks, Tam for your first comment on names.

Hi Dara. Thank you for your teaching. Oh, "Dara " has many meanings.

Yokoso, watashi no youjin, Tam! You are most welcome. I hope I learn some more about your language. Welcome again.

We must give good names to our children or they will be bullied by their schoolmates. Bad names will only give them low self-esteem.

Benar Katy! Kamu dimana? Dear Katy, where have you been? It is true, from their schoolmates they will learn and build themselves. Therefore, it is important to give them good names. Thanks Katy for your nice comment.

V tojchku Olga! That was absolutely correct. It can also determine the fate of the child. So, you add your voice to the voice of that respected lady, Katy, and Mr. Tam. By the way, the name "Olga", does it have any relation to that famous river in Russia? Thanks for your logical comment.

Yes, children must get good and meaningful names from their parents. Like many things names also have influence a bit in our lives. I think, everybody likes to be called by a good name. And, when a person has a name that sounds weird he/she must get teasing....so, parents should be careful!
