I took this question at Miss Universe 2011 pageant held at San Pablo, Brazil. An interview question of one of the judges picked by Miss Philippines.

"Would you change your religious belief to marry the man you love?"

She answered, NO and explained why. She got the third placer. I'm proud of her.

I agree to her. I would say no, too. As a Christian, I would not change my religion. I grew up believing that there is only one creator,GOD. If he loves me then he will love my God,too.

And actually I am with that right guy, sharing seven years of love to be exact. Thanks God for giving this man to me.

I believe that all true love comes from God. That tender emotion, that ability to desire, that capacity to caress was implanted in our being by the creator, God. Not only he does create lover; He is the world's greatest lover.

Let us find out your answer. I love and respect all your wonderful comments.

Congratulations to all the candidates. We are all Miss Universe.

It's me,

MileyJ

  • I respect all your opinions my friends. I know we have different beliefs and principles in life.

    Thanks for sharing your words.

  • I don't think my partner love me so much if he/she make me change my religion to marrie him/her.
    • There're societies where it's a quite serious question. Man and woman are not allowed to mary if their religions or nationalities are different. It's a tradition and people are taught to it from childhood.

But think that if it's true love man and woman would go against traditions and family.

    • ... And I respect that societies and traditions but will not change my opinion if It ever happens to me. I wouldn't mind to fall in love with other religion's person but bouth should be open minded. Indeed, I know a differents religions married couple living in Jordan and they don't have any problem ( I think).

As you say, if it's true love they won't mind traditions.
    • I agree with you!!!

    • :o Really?? so, what's your religion? Hahaha... Just kidding :D
    • Hi Estanis!! KKKK  (that’s my Brazilian laugh). You know what I meant.

  • Hello!!

I’m not a religious person and I wouldn’t start to believe in something because I fell in love or I want to marry, that wouldn’t be a true belief. And I think it’s hard, but we have to learn how to respect the other’s beliefs or the lack of them. Some months ago I met an atheist guy that was married to a religious woman, and they respect to each other, one don’t try to change the other one. I think respect can be the answer, don’t try to change the person you love, because she/ he maybe will be able to change. But will she/he be happy with this??

That's my opinion but nobody has to agree with me!!

    • I totaly agree with you!

I'm also not a religious man. I think I'm just not able to change my opinion under pressure of circumstances or other people. Religion goes from heart and it's the way that you should find by yourself.

  • Hi! I'm a muslim & I'll stick to my religion no matter what. I won't even let myself go so close as to fall for a non-muslim guy but if that happens and he's ready to join my religion, I'll go ahead & marry him. If not, my religion will always come first.
