EC make me and everyone who want to study online even you alone but you lonely to improve yourself , you can learning by doing like talking with friend with good word ect.
I don't count it as addictive, but in here, I can improve my English, and practice my English, and in this site, learning English can be so much fun, because cultural blended here. Many interesting topics, and we can learn directly from natives. It is fun to know other member participate in your blog or discussion, and know their point of view. I like what Sewar said, I'm investing my time here, nice.
Opinions of members from different cultures on good topics help me know and understand thses peoples. It maybe one of the reasons. I attract to it so much.
However, main reason is that I have learned from it a lot.
I don't really know too, but for me I'm not wasting my time when I'm on this site, there's a lot of reason to stay connected at this site, and of course I really want to improve my self.
My friend Dayne, on behalf of my self, as long as the reading is my flesh and boons, I can say that EC is a huge lovely talking endless book. You not only read various topics about different subjects, but also you can write your comments and share them with others, which is a good way to have a several opinions about one topic, really this enrich your ideas and thoughts. In addition to what I have mentioned, EC is a good environment to provide us with friends from different cultures maybe you didn't hear about some of them, which is a win for us. To be honest with you my friend, I am not addict to EC, yes I spend some of my time but, not my family and my job time, just mine, in front of my lap tub reading from EC and writing comments, but I know how to control my time which I invest it at EC. My best wishes for you, really it is a lovely topic.
There are lots of reasons .and when I say LOTS OF REASON i mean really a lot .you know Dayne I wish I could say all of them but sometimes we must to act Self-censorship cuz the thing that we can say hurt some of people ..but for me really EC is like second home ohoh ,from the vision of my family first home ,I love here cuz I know lots of people from around the world and it is easy for me communicate with them ,you know maybe we are also getting a little lazy for having relation ship with our friend in real life ,for me is the same my friend blame me that why I am getting far from them .and also here is amazing place to know other people to know what is really going on around the world ,you are facing with people a real people much more real than news ,you can ask them about what you hear in news this pat is amazing also ..but besides what is going on around u ,this is a way to know urself ,to know who you are and what is your reaction in different situation ,and I am so sorry for people which says here just virtual life and this is not important for them other how think about them...

For me....English club became my second home...i meet different people with different nationalities and cultures.....plus we only speak in English...EC IS A MIXTURE OF LEARNING AND FUN..I love it...:)

Hmm ... I will try to answer and rationalise it when I'm no longer what you called "addicted" to this club. LOL.

I have not found yet the reason! I did not even imagine to be such addicted one!!
but there is easily one reason; Mr. Essberger has added a few addictive drug to it beside do not forget the salt which EC members add to it. :)
