  • I've just come across the quote by Lao Tzu which
has to do with the subject of the discussion.

“If you are depressed you are living in the past.
If you are anxious you are living in the future.
If you are at peace you are living in the present.”

  • Hi, Rys,

I would not choose any of those.

If that future is my future, then it most probably changes the moment I see it. So, it becomes a future that could have happened but in the end will not. Or even if it will happen, then in a different way.

I would choose to repair my past, if it would not affect my brain dramatically, for example, if it would not make me forget people I met because of the consequences that followed some bad incidents in the past.

  •   I will write it in arabic for you Rysper

    ليس بالإمكان ابدع مما كان

  •   There is a saying in our culture  " nothing could be done better  than what was it done " it is related to philosophy  as well :)

  • Ooohh!  That is a choice I hope I never really have to make!  I would much rather learn from the mistakes that I have made in the past so that I can live a better future.  There are undoubtedly good reasons that my life is what it is and I hope and pray that I am developing the wisdom to learn the lessons that it has to offer.

    • jia, if you want to advertise yourself, don't be a smart aleck, write your own blog, and don't pollute other people's blogs with your spamming ads, caramba!!

  • Try to change some issues from the past.

    • me too... repair it

  • If I were given the choice - to see into my future or to repair my past. I'd definitely choose the second option. I'd try to change what happened in the past. Future??I do not want to know the date of my death. Whatever will be, will be... que sera sera..

Maybe I'd try to study harder ,but  for sure not what I had to learn.I'd try to tell ....... I loved him ,that would be the greatest challenge .

  • What?! Oh, no! Don't make me pick! Go back to the past = scary. Go to see the future = scary. You wanna kill my poor lil heart?!

Also, changing stuff from the past or making diff decisions would lead to never had met important people of your life who you met making maybe bad decisions, or changing/deleting situations that were important... There is a spanish saying: 'Todo lo que sucede, conviene' (something like: All what happens can be good (or a good lesson) at some point)

So, I'm of the Calvin's opinion: Let's just stop here :P
