What makes you happy?

Were you happy before?

Have you ever had a happy moment before?

Have you been happy?

Are you happy now?

Are you happy with your life?

Are you happy with your school (College/University)?

Are you happy with your work?

Are you happy with your family?

Are you happy with your girl friend/boy friend?

Are you happy with what you've been through?

Are you happy with your appearance (what you look like)?

Are you happy with your EC friends in learning English together?

Are you happy with your achievements?

If you have a spare time now, let's try & think what makes us happy. Perhaps we should firstly think of what has really made you happy before, or the happy moment you have ever had before.

If you find it too difficult, then please give us at least your answer from the below simple question;

Would You Say That You Are Truly Happy In Your Life?

A.Yes, overall, I am truly happy.
B.Somewhat; I'm not as happy as I'd like to be, but I'm happy enough.
C.

No, I'm not nearly as happy as I'd like to be.

What is the actual meaning of 'a happiness'?  This may help us for our future happiness we are going to have; it says 'a mental state of well-being characterized by positive emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy'. Philosophers and religious thinkers often define happiness in terms of living a good life, or flourishing, rather than simply as an emotion.

    • Hi, Andrew!

I could see your appreciations in your happinesses with the simple existences, as we are sometimes so forgetful of the real happiness we are actually sitting on. If our parents are still alive, how happy & thankful we should be, and of course, we should be also happy if you have a life friend and job as well. Many of us don't have even their parents because they might be already passed away, and they might not have a life friend nor job, but perhaps they might be still looking for it.

      Thanks for your reply!!!

  • There are many definitions of happiness. To some, happiness is positive emotions that will give you contentment and intense joy. Other say it is something that you fee l as you struggle from one obstacle to another. In Japanese women`s view, happiness is a matter of becoming financially secure or getting married.

In my personal view, it is a positive feeling when I accomplished something, when I do good to satisfy myself and other people, when I see my family overflowing with love, when I gain many true friends who can lead me to a better way and when I live a life in peace and in God`s teaching.

    • Hi, Jane!

Thanks very much for your reply! I really appreciate what you said in your personal view, and I couldn't agree more with you.

Well, that's true that there are many individual definitions of 'Happiness', as it can be all individually different from each other, but the concept should follow the same principle, even though we all have different circumstances in the different world we are living in, which depends on your common sense, if you really want to have such simple happinesses; all your positive feelings, satisfying yourself in doing good things, loving someone including your family & friends or being loved, accomplishing something for yourself, having a peaceful life by God's will as He has His purposes for every one of us, etc.

    • Hi, Sweet Nikki!

Your name & profile icon explains how happy you you would have been....or you are; I like your motto 'True love never dies, it only gets stronger with time' very much.

Through your description of your simple happinesses, I could imagine that you would be a very hard worker, a very kind & warm-hearted person, a nice & good looking mother, a determined person for your future English improvements, etc. So there is no reason to be unhappy!!! May God bless you to be happy as who you are & what you have!

  • if we want to be happy, the most important is that we had done something which is benefit to them. so we should try our best to help others
    • Hi, Doubleaction!

Firstly, I just wondered how & why you chose your nick name (Doubleaction). There must be a reason for it, I guess: Double action - a mechanism capable of shortening the sounding length of the string by one and by two semitones.

Helping others makes us happy, yeah, right! When you've done something right not just for yourself but for others, it surely makes you happy in achieving something, a beneficial action & result for others.

    • Hi, Nadira!

Your expression is more like a poetry, I like it very much.

Especially, mustering all the happinesses with our emotions, actually it is not so difficult because they are just there beside you in existence waiting to be recognized, to be grabbed and to be yours.
