Do you work in your country or in a foreign country? If you work in your country, then your boss must get along with you. The boss should adapt himself with you.
You may think that western people are more straight faced or that we take things too seriously but I think it's only regarding to work or jobs, I assure you that we have also our hearts :D
So, in my opinion you should behave as you are, just do your best at your work.
Btw, when I visited your country I got amazed how happy people live, I envy you :)

Just be open-minded.your weakness eastern people is that you are more to be emotional than logical.so my point is you eastern people should use your mind much more than your emotions to judge things.
