Gerard Depardieu

The most contemporary French actor Gerard Depardieu has repeatedly called "a real successor of Jean Gabin." We recognize his outstanding talent in such a comparison and reference to the appearance of ugly man, but extremely charming and charismatic actor.

Depardieu was born in December, 27, 1948 in the small town of Chateauroux. He lived in a poor large family of roofer. His father had to earn and feed six children including Gerard. In 12 years, Gerard ran away from home. He was on the French countryside and sometimes went to the local bars. But he accidentally went into drama school. He became interested in art. Gerard began to read a lot. At age 16, he enrolled in courses of dramatic. Also, he worked in an amateur troupe "Café de la Gare". He began sporadically appear in the movie, but the real actor's film career began in 1971 (after a small role of Jacques Dere in the melodrama on the popular novel by Francoise Sagan). In 1994, Michel Blanc made a satirical comedy "Intrigue of glory". One of the many jokes about the stars and their counterparts touches the honor and dignity of Depardieu.

Star of Depardieu woke up after the provocative masterpiece of Bertrand Blier "Going Places". The novel of Blier came at us in the translation of Alexander Bragin, entitled "The Adventures of assholes". Partners of Gerard were Patrick Dever, Miu Miou, Isabelle Huppert. They also became well known just after the premiere pictures of Blier. Later Depardieu repeatedly worked with radical directors. His best roles are an Italian troublemaker Marco Ferreri in "The Last Woman", "Monkey dream", Maurice Pialat in "Lulu", "Police". Depardieu has played in four other works of masters (Prepare handkerchiefs), "Cold starter", "Evening Dress" and "Too Beautiful for You".

It is difficult to find any significant French producer, who did not work with Depardieu. Depardieu is often found in American projects. The creators-intellectuals and professional comedians love charming winemaker and author of the autobiographical book of "Stolen letters". In 1999, the audience has seen film for $ 45 million - comic "Asterix and Obelix against Caesar".  In 2000 the next Cannes Film Festival was opened by an ambitious historical drama of Roland Joffe "Vatel". Depardieu played duets with the most beautiful women of France - Catherine Deneuve ("The Last Metro" won the prize "Cesar"). We have two examples of experience of Depardieu Film in directing: film adaptation of Moliere's comedy "Tartuffe" (1984) and "The bridge between the two sides" (1999).
