  • Bear in mind that while "mayn't" is in the dictionary, it is extremely rare to the point of being archaic. I don't think I've ever said "mayn't" in my life. Contractions imply informal speech, in which case natives are more likely to use the verb "can" and say "can't".

    The conctration of " may not " is " mayn't ". It is pronunced /meɪnt/.
