    • Thanks a lot for your contribution to this grammar challenge, Mr. Essberger.

Finally, we got support of a native English speaker.

I would like to ask you something.

Sentence 1 : why do we have to write...between and not among?

Sentenc 8: Why should we use goes instead if go?

If you scroll down, you will find my explanation to each sentence.

      Did I anything wrong?

      Thanks.

  • Here is good training in English grammar, Rose! Thanks a lot for sharing it with us! If you have more exercises like those, please let me know and share them with me! Love it!!

  • The last sentence of this dicussion is sentence number 15.

    15. She is so a good friend to me.

    What is wrong?

We don't say 'so a good friend'.

'So' has to be followed by an adjective.  e.g.: 'She is so kind'

'A good friend' is a  noun phrase.

If we use a noun phrase we have to use 'such'

    The correct sentences is:

    15. She is such a good friend to me.

  • Sentence Number 14:

    14. I'll visit my mon again on next Sunday.

    What is wrong?

If we use the adjective 'next', we don't add a preposition in front of it. 'Next' is a preposition of a time or season, coming immediately after the time of writing or speaking.

    The correct sentence is:

    14. I'll visit my mon again next Sunday.

  • Such a good job, Rose, congrats! I just admire your dedication and patience. Please do not stop here cos it is so great not only to make EC alive but also very informative. Apart, if to take into consideration how easy you explain not easy rules...Your challenges became one of the most useful cores of this platform.

Looking forward to solving new problems Thank you so much ))))

    • I prefer to explain things simply. Just like I wanted someone to explain something to me. To explain something to other people, we must first understand things ourselves.

Thank you for the praise, dear O.M.

I did it as well as I could.

  • Now, I will correct the sentences 12 and 13.

    12. I don't have money enough to buy a house.

    13. I am not enough rich to buy a new car.

    What is wrong?

If we use enough, it has to be added before a noun but after an adjective.

    So are the correct sentences:

    12. I don't have enough money to buy a house.

    13. I am not rich enough to buy a new car.

  • Sentence number 11:

    11. I love team-sports as handball.

    What is wrong?

There is a missing word in this sentence, a determiner. We use handball as an example of / one kind of/ team-sports.

That's why the correct sentence is:

    11. I love team-sports such as handball.  ( You also can use 'like' instead of such as )
