Writing Challenge: Mothers

HOW I LEARNED READING:

Prior to my school age I used to ask my mother to read story books for me. My mother had just the basic knowledge of reciting Holy Quraan, she also could read small books in our native language. Once she asked me why I would not learn how to read if I was so interested in stories. Then she taught how to read Urdu, which I learned prior to going school. My mother bought the very first book of learning Urdu Alphabets, their combination in twos or more letters to make words. My mother, like I said could only able to recite the Qura’an, and the alphabets (letters) of Urdu are mostly similar to the Arabic Alphabets. So with the help of her Qura’an reciting knowledge she taught me the alphabets and their combination to make words, and then sentences. My mother, may Allah bless her soul and keep her in the highest place in heaven, in spite she herself not able to read and write properly, made me read stories by myself. Whatever I am today, in respect of reading and writing has been because of the foundation laid by her. I have tears of respect in my eyes while I am remember her in these words.

  • Mothers are really special! Nice blog.

  • Having read your blog, I have perceived how much you still feel love for your late mother. May Allah place her in the highest place in heaven! Ameen!
  • Thanks Dr. for your stopping by and comments.

  • Emotional! Great work!

There're still people who take their mother's love for granted, though.

  • Amen m'lady. Thanks for your appreciation.

  • Nida and Alice.................Amen

  • How adorable! There's no love like a mother's love and this is the reason why Allah compares His love with a mother's love.

It's one of the best blogs on EC I ever read. Your story about your mother clearly proves why it's been said that the lap of a mother is the first school of a child.

May Allah bless your mother, Mishaikh.

  •  Mishaikh May your words rise up like incense to your mother in heaven.

  • Thanks saba for your lovely comments.

  • She was a wonderful mother and teacher for you, I know how much you love her, because you always say in your blogs that you love your mother three times more than your father, May Allah bless her soul.
