Writing challenge: Letter to my country

Dear Bangladesh,

Let me say first that I love you. I was born and raised in your lap. I got my education and everything from you. So, you deserve my respect.

You are a riverine country. You have the longest sandy sea-beach with hill aside, mangrove forest. You have hilsha fish and jamdani sari and six different seasons!

Along with it, you have a glorious past of freedom. You are the only country whose soil sons/daughters once sacrificed their lives for their mother tongue. Now this day is observing as the International mother tongue day around the globe.

But, still  there are many things you should take care of!

There are many people who are undernourished, far away from better education and heath facility, living in poverty.

There is water and air pollution. There is traffic in the big cities and no transport facility in the rural areas!

Though, aside from above and other problems you are emerging like a tigress. So, don't look back. Go ahead, we are  with you.

Yours,

Afro.

  • @ Tara, thanks a lot, yes, it is whose but I have to admit I did not know it before.

  • Thank you everybody for reading and putting your nice comments. Yes, we have six different seasons. Now we are in Autumn after that we will have Late Autumn. During late Autumn village people like to celebrate the very first day by making local food. Cultural organizations ( in big cities) will arrange cultural program and fair. Actually, During late Autumn farmers cultivate their crops so they celebrate this season. And, right now it is Autumn. In Autumn nature and weather gets cool. Hot Summer has gone away. In this season like your county, we also have white clouds in the sky, we get gentle breeze. I know, there are KASFUL (a white color flower, usually and naturally born and set in blossom, you may get this name as CATKIN in a dictionary) in every bank of the river and they are swaying against the morning and evening breeze!

  • Great! Thanks for sharing.
