Many are asking what would you do in 2012, what are you preparing for the new year?

What are the new resolutions, red lines, goals, targets, achievements?

Some really plan and stick to it..

Some say..

But some are just too stubborn

Most get confused or caught up..

But for most the end is more like this..
But my question is do we really need those resolutions, plans, guidelines.. etc for new year..
So what do you say...

  • I have no new years resolutions.. I just go accordingly as the days pan out.. I have my small little targets that I need to achieve for the that I keep working on.. I dont think of things too far ahead because the longer the duration the harder it is to maintain course.. and i am very inconsistent and lazy so a year long vigil is beyond my endurance.. :D

  • @siraj.. affirmative, that should be the way to handle things, no need to be over concerned about future, just focus on the things at hand..
  • I like to do things as it comes, not preparing.

I mean not concerning myself a lot about future.

  • @jenny.. how about planning for the present day.. it would be easier if we plan our days, which leads to a collective goal at the end of the week/month..

@gang chen.. hi glad to meet you too..

  • hi, glad to meet you.

  • @SHIFNA.. you will definitely go dizzy if you make resolutions every day.. :D
@nguyen.. good.. a simpler goal that is realistic
@Natalia.. thats a heavy resolution you got there..
@Nafis.. that is the basic point i want to highlight, keeping a few small, short term, achievable goals and for that we dont a need a new year it can be started from today..
  • Dear Naveed, I think the reason that people end up doing nothing or they just stick to their resolution only for the first month after New Year is that they put so many things in their resolution, so many goals...

Last year, my only goal for New Year was to write as much as I could and I really did that. I wrote so many blogs which I am really happy. This year, I will pick up only one simple thing that I can do it. I think that's enough for the whole year...I still like keep doing what I had for last year as my resolution...writing as much as I can!!!

  • I know that it isn't OK, but I'm very spontaneous.......I NEVER make any resolutions....If I want to do something, I don't need any resolutions.... I simply do it......and it works very well....

  • Thanks!

Everyone has plan for next year, when finish old year.

My aim is very simple, I wish I can speak English well, because I'll get better job, higher position at my job and can get promotion...

  • @be fair.. thanks a lot for your fair judgement, people just need an excuse to put off matters and my fair lady if you are the fairest of all and you like some more visual just check out my profile page ;)

@M.Adaway.. I knew you would definitely have some plans..

@aop and Ario.. yes different people different thoughts, but no need to bound ourselves to unrealistic ambitions

@sweety.. those are people who are not committed to their purposes

@anele.. associate hope / false hope to such an event is creating a delusion to fool ourselves, and some might burden their new year wish list that they might end up throwing it..

@lin.. plans can be made at any point of time, a year is a long vigil and may not eventuate as per plan.. it is better to accumulate short realistic goals that will accomplish the prime goal
