Tomorrow is the first day of the ten days of the month of Thulhijjah. These are considered the special seasons of worship. Which Allah, The Almighty preferred over all the other days of the year.
According to hadith narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) they reported that Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days" The people asked, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause and came back with nothing"
From this hadith, we know that these ten days are better than the last ten days of the month of Ramadan, but they are not better than the ten nights of the last of Ramadan. Because of the Night of power (lailatul gadr).
There are many virtues in these ten days of the month of Thulhijjah. We shall take some tips hoping that the reader can be reminded of the ten days and their virtues.
first. In Quraan, Surat Alfajr, Allah, The Almighty swears an oath by them. When The Almighty swears an oath by something it indicates the greatness and the importance of it. Allah said, ((By the dawn, by the ten nights,))
From the previous Hadeeth and Surat Alfajr, we know the importance of these ten days. Nabi Mohammed, (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) encourages us to do the righteous deeds because of the virtue of the season and virtue of the place. The house of Allah. It is the first house which was built for worship.
Second, Arafa day is among these ten days. its fasting removes away the sins of one year before and the next year. (of course, for the nonpilgrim).
Third, once the moon of the month of Thulhijjah is seen people can say tahmeed and takbeer and they can fast all the nine days of it. Of course, the day of Eid is prohibited to fast on it. These are some of the benefits of these ten days. We shall continue later. I hope this topic reminds you of the ten days.

  • Thanks, Evangelina for pressing the like button.

  • Sekitar sepuluh jam dengan mobil. Yes, it is very far, but for the sake of Allah, we do it. I took Fatima and her twins two months ago. We also had a visit during last Ramadan. Every year, we go either to perform Umrah or visit Madinah and give salam to our Prophet Mohammed, (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When you intend to come, inform me at least, one month before. I will be glad to host our kind moderator, Onee Chan.

  • Seven hundred fifty kilometers from Mecca? Wow! It takes a day and night by car, right?

I wish to go there one day, too. But you know the queue is too long in Indonesia. ^^

Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Sir.

  • Main Allah ka fazilat japta hoon! We are hoping to get the virtue from Allah, The Almighty especially on these virtuous days of the month of Thulhijjah. Mr. Mishaikh, as usual, help me to answer some of the members' questions. I might not be online sometimes. Please, once you are available, take care of the answers so that many members can benefit from that. I will really appreciate it. Thanks, Mr. Mishaikh in advance for your kind assistance.

  • Yak see mach, Luci? Thanks for your comment. I hope to be one of your friends.

  • Shamasha nahi Bet! No problem at all! I hope when you intend to come for Umrah or Hajj to inform me so I can be able to meet you there. Better be one month or so before your arrival. We are about seven hundred fifty kilometers from Mecca. I usually drive my car when I go there. Flying and taking rented cares cost a lot of money, therefore, I prefer to use my car. I and Mr. Mishaikh will try to answer some of the questions concerning Hajj. Thanks, Bet for asking.

  • Thanks, Dara....here I always try to know the reasons and fact, it helps a lot to get a clear picture. No, sorry I have not yet performed Hajj or Umrah...so, please pray for me that one day I can  come and perform.

  • Abashayi Bet! Certainly, the person who performs these rituals should know the fact behind them. I think you also know part of them because you have been here for Hajj or Umrah before, or am I mistaken? Answering your question needs nine or ten sides of foolscap paper, but I will try to be short as possible.

To start, Hajj (pilgrimage) is the fifth pillar of Islam. Hajj is performed to be close and near Allah and to worship Him. The pilgrimage or (Hajj) has its rituals. For instance, we take the ritual of Arafa. What is the meaning of that? On the last time, Prophet Mohammed, (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)) made his farewell Hajj, He stood on that mountain of Arafa and gave his famous sermon to all of us. ((Today, I have completed your religion for you and I am  satisfied that Islam is your religion)). This is on the ninth of the month of Thulhijjah. It is also called the great day of Hajj. On that mountain or near it, the Prophet stood there and made his doaa (supplication) and so we did the same afterward.

Sleeping in Muzdaliffa (Almashaar Alharam) is a ritual. Picking the stones from Muzdaliffa is a ritual. Leaving for the area of Mena is a ritual. As I said, each one of these rituals means something. Sacrificing your sheep is a ritual. shaving or shortening the hair is a ritual. Throwing the stones at Satan is a ritual. All these rituals of Hajj refer to the oneness of Allah and to the unification of God.  Bet, I hope this helps.
