Tell us who you are. We can help you.

Hello everyone ^^

I’ve been working for one week. There are so many things for me to learn and to work. Working here, I now definitely know that how I am lucky. After graduating, I didn’t feel so much confident about myself. I read newspaper to look for the vacancy announcement; I registered some websites which help people to find a job… Many jobs I’m really interested in. However, some of them require good appearance, I don’t have it. Others require experience. I don’t have any experience. For about 2 months, I just worked as a tutor and tried to improve my knowledge. It was such a boring time. One day, I got a message from a company asking me to interview.  I passed the interview and went to work until now. Now I am a Human Resource Assistant. Thanks to my experience as well as my job at present, I know that to get a good job, there are some requirements more important than appearance and experience.

So what is my purpose to write this blog? I don’t mean to show off myself. I want to create a topic for everyone:

-To share your own experience to get a job --> it will be precious material for who are looking for a job.

-To share your job at present. --> Your responsibilities, do you enjoy your work, what are the important qualities for that position, your work’s objectives in 5 years.

-If you are still a student, or you haven’t had a job yet, which job do you want to look for? What is your major now? Your characteristics/ skills/ qualifications --> so maybe someone who has experience can give you some advice.

I hope that this topic will help you to know more clearly about yourself as well as to define your future job.

Ok, now firstly I’d like to share my own experience.

As I told you, I am a HR assistant. My responsibilities are contacting with employment service center to look for candidate, arranging interview, cooperating with Dept Head to interview Candidate and giving final selection. Then, I set plan and cooperate with Training Manager to conduct training for staff.  At first, I don’t really know about this position, but now I’m really interested in it. I will try to do my best to get a good result and get more experience during my 2 month – probation. I want to be a good HR manager before the age of 30.

Some qualifications need for a HR assistant – be responsible, persuasive and sensitive, quite understand other’s psychology and have leadership skill. Besides, you should have a good voice and be patient, because you have to talk a lot and have to contact many people.

There are 3 things I learned from my last interview.

Firstly, self-confidence and quickly response are so important. You have to believe in yourself, then you can convince the interviewer believe in you, too. During your interview, the interviewer will ask you about your work objectives, your strong points, weak points, the company’s information, your qualifications for the position which you apply for. They can ask you some questions to make you difficult in order to see how you react. So be calm and response confidently and quickly. You will get plus (+) from them.

Secondly, if your certificate or diplomas are not very good, you should be confident you also have chance to get a good job. The most important thing is how well you do in the interview. Besides, the interview highly evaluates the candidates who join outside/social activities…  So if you haven’t joined such activities, let do it now.

The last thing is preparing a good CV. It is the first key to make a good impression to the company, to force them to contact you. You should write clearly, detailed, not too much colorful. Especially, you have to show your aim in your near future, how you do to improve yourself, your skills, your social activities, and your reference. One more thing you shouldn’t forget – to write your address, your email or your phone number, so the company can contact you easily.

These are something I want to share with all of you. Hope that they can help you.

Good luck everyone.

Now this is your turn … ^^

(PS: Please correct my mistakes if any. Thank you a lot. )

  • Dear fayroz,

Thanks for your compliment ^^ I'm the same to you. Before I got my present job, I had wondered myself so many times what i want to be, but I hadnt had the answer. You know sometimes the job chooses us, in stead of we choose them. The important thing is that whether you know how to catch your chance or not.

You now have a lot of time to improve yourself before getting a job. First, you should join as much as social activities in your school or class. From these experiences, you can discover your hidden strong points which you didnt know before. Or you can self nominate to be a leader in class. It's quite hard and takes your time, but you will be more responsible, active, and know how to manage ...Besides, they are really a good key to impress the interviewer, to show that you're more special than other candidates. Second, spend your time to improve English. Last but not least, you have to be confident about yourself. Keep in your mind that YOU CAN DO EVERYTHING IF YOU WANT AND DO YOUR BEST.

I'm looking forward to hearing your good news, dear.
