Tara's Challenge : Compare and Contrast

Thanks Tara for inviting members here to participate at another interesting challenge, compare and contrast. Finally, I chose two pictures of mine. They look similar but different.

Here is my contribution. The first is my second letter,  I recieved it in 2011, and the second is my first letter recieved on March 22nd, 2010. Both were my letters from my lovely friend, Atika from Algeria.

2. what's different about these pictures?

3. If I asked you "how did you feel when you received your first letter?

4. What does the postcard mean for you?

    2. what's different about these pictures?

different pictures, different paper used, different background when you take the letter

    3. If I asked you "how did you feel when you received your first letter?

very happy, surprised , exciting , want to reply it right away

    4. What does the postcard mean for you?

        I love it !

    Have a great day !

  • Thank you dear Nadiyah for shraring and to Tara for creating this challenge.

the similarities: they are four photos nearly at the same time of the day:sun setting.

the differences:the sea is calm at the first picture ,maybe it's in summer..

The cards from friends has a great meaning :make us feel how great the word friendship even lands and seas between us.

  • Great post Nadiyah!

One thing that is similar is the presentation of the photographs and the letters. The photographs are placed on top of the letter in both pictures.

I remember receiving my first letter from a pen pal in Australia. I was so excited! Her English was a bit different than mine. She sent me a picture of herself on a swing.

  • Hello Nadiyah,

    1. Similarities are : the 2 letters come from the same country and were written by the     same person. The Photos of both letters seem to have been taken at the end of the day as the light looks pretty much the same.

    2. Differences : Views are different; on the first photo, the sea is calm, on the second the sea is agitated. The views are general on the first photo, while on the second, they represent monuments.

    3. It was a long time ago, so i am not really sure about how i felt at that time, but as i started to collect them, i can say that postcards always made me dream about going to other places and meeting other cultures

    4. I love postcards and i have collected them since i was about 14 years old. I have more than one thousand, and they come from all over the world. I started that collection because, for me, it was a way to escape from my little village and to travel while staying at home.

  • The similarity  I feel is  that  they are environmental  and  historical  pics

the difference  may be of the places

I would  feel  very excited  and happy getting my first  letter

A postcard  is some thing  special  and  unique  as it  shares  information  about the country  concerned
