School years: paradise or hell?

I recently looked through pictures from my prom and last call at school. Let’s look back at some time and remember our school years. For many of us, perhaps, it was the most beautiful period of life, and for other it was hell. And they still remember it with horror.

What means for you school years? Was it paradise or hell?

Do you remember the name of your first teacher? You can wake me at night and ask – I can answer without hesitation: Koroleva Lyubov Ivanovna :) And of course,  my form-master Khizhnyak Elena Mihailovna, who gave the ticket into adulthood.

     What was your favourite subject?
Were you good or bad pupil?

Broken windows, broken doors, a visit to the director, forgery marks, signatures, a flood in class, chewing gum in a lock and cheers, spoiled a lesson and etc. I am sure many of us did it.
Perhaps you can remember and share with us your story.

I remembered an explosion in chemistry class. I experimented with sulphuric acid (H2SO4) and then suddenly - boom. At first it was not funny after that incident, I just hated the experiments. But now remember it with a smile! It was first case in our school. Do not worry, all were alive :)

In general, I was a good pupil. I participated in various competitions, Olympiads. Sometimes it drove me crazy. I was sick of it. And when I graduated school and I could breathe free. I was happy.

Now do you often meet your classmates?
Do you organize the meeting of classmates? (In Russia first Saturday of February is the meeting of classmates)

Friends, share with us your recollections and even perhaps some pictures.

This is my classmates and my teacher. (Last call at school).

  • This is really a very interesting chapter of your life to hear about. Speaking about my self, I was a good pupil, ( Honest!) , My elementary and mid school were hell, on the contrary, my high school was paradise.

My best subject was English language, I was always the best student in English, I loved it from all my heart.

I remember one funny painful thing happened to me, it was in the mid school, I was on an activity of how to put electric wires to geather, the green, red and black wires and on a small pipe put a lamp at the end to light.

by mistake I switched on the power and I have touched the place where all wires are, so I got electric shot, luckily, the electricity was on saftry disable system mode, the funny thing was that my teacher said to me, " you are the first student to get the electric shot in my long years of teaching" I was embarressed but then now i laugh about it.

    Nice topic Valentine :)

  • Good topic, Valentine. I remember when I was in collage, we fooled the teacher by exchanging the classroom with the class next to us on April Fool's Day. Until the teacher finsihed the class, he eventually found we were not his students and then we quickly said to him " HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY!"

Students may do things they find interesting at times, while teachers may not agree with them.

But, all those naughty or childish things we ever did still brings us a good memory.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • What a nice topic ! Until i was in my nursing studies, school for me was closer to hell than to paradise. But although i had many problems with my teachers, i have great memories.
I was not what i could named an "easy going " pupil. Ever since i was very young, i had a strong personality, who always wanted to understand the reason of everything. So, as not everything can be explained, i gave a hard time to most of my teachers. I was never scared to tell them what i was thinking and when something seemed unfair to me i was fighting with them.
That side of me gave me many problems and i was often sent to the director office for punishment. And once i was home i had a second punishment given by my mother who was a teacher as well.
But the good side of this was that i had lots of friends around, most of them really liked me because i was not scared, i was funny and always ready to play tricks.
My favorite cours was french litterature, i was very good at it and Mrs Waucoment really liked me. On the opposite, i was the black sheep of my math teacher. One day she sent me to the blackboard for a demonstration of geometry. As i could not solve it, she told me :" Tossings (my surname) you are a donkey, go back to your seat" . I never forgot that and sometimes, i still dream about that teacher who really didn't like me at all.
Once in college everything was fine, as i could study what i really liked. My strong personality and the fact that i can not help to react when facing unfairness still gives me problems even now that i am not in school anymore, but this is another problem :))
Hahaha, this topic remind me about happy times, thanks for posting it.
