.Rmadan part 3

Praise be to Allah, the lord of the worlds and blessing and peace be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon his family and companions.

((Fast, you will be healthy)). Fasting is not intended to be primarily a medical system to the person's diseases; nevertheless, it achieves that thing. Its main objective, as we mentioned before, is to attain piety and be conscious of Allah by obeying his commands and shunning his prohibitions. There are many beneficial means for the soul and the body as well.

Medical studies have proved that fasting (If it is done properly as part of a system), has many health benefits. Removal of the excess fats that cause one to be overweight or obese. We all know that overweight has negative effects on the body especially the heart. Fasting protects and preserves it. It also gets rid of the harmful excretions that enter the blood. It has been proven scientifically. Doctors advise some diabetic patients to fast. It will also let the cells and the organs of the body to relax and rest during the fasting period.

As for the soul. It will expiate the previous sins. According to Hadeeth narrated by Abu Hurairah, (May Allah be pleased with him), Prophet Mohammad, (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ((Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and hope of reward, will be forgiven his previous sins). Imagine that Allah will wipe out all our previous sins. The first ten days are called the days of Rahmah (mercy)). The second tens are called the days of magfirah (forgiveness). The last ten days are emancipation from hell.

Now we are in the days of magfirah (forgiveness). One more day, and we will begin the last ten days of the holy month. Imagine this, mercy, forgiveness and to be free from hellfire. Entering paradise through Al Rayan door. My goodness, what a gift. All you have to do is to stand at the doorstep of Allah, worship him perform thikr (remembrance). Supplicating him insistently, and do other acts of worship like Itikaf (to be secluded in the mosque). This kind of worship is considered to be the best deeds of being close to Allah the almighty during these last ten days of Ramadan.

Prophet Mohammad, (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to be diligent in worship. According to Aisha, (May Allah be pleased with her), she said, ((When the last ten days of Ramadan begin, he will tighten his apron and awake his family and exert in worship.)).

Laylatul Qadr (The night of Power or revelation). Prophet Mohammad urged us to seek it on the last odd ten days of Ramadan. It is better than a thousand months, which equals about eighty three years. I am sorry I said 88 years on Part 2. I am not good at mathematics. We will continue later. .
