Ramadan

Tomorrow, Friday 24 of April is the first day of Ramadan. Ramadan means stop eating and drinking and the sexual desire from dawn until sunset then we breakfast. Ramadan is the month of mercy and forgiveness and freeing from hell. I congratulate you on the beginning of the month and I take this opportunity to ask God to move that deadly virus from the world. I shall continue to talk later about the holy month.

  • Hi, Dara.

Even if you are hungry if you do not eat during the day. But you can break fasting from sunset to sunrise. People who are really hungry due to lack of food do not have this option. These people fall asleep from hunger and get up again from hunger.
I do not think that someone who has not experienced the need can say that they can really feel it.

    • Danke vielmals Rose Iris! It is true that we cease or stop eating at dawn and break the fast at sunset. during this time, we feel hungry. Here is one of the aims of fasting in Ramadan. Rich people do not feel hunger or if you ask me, they do not know what is the meaning of hunger. Ramadan works as a reminder for that hunger. In that case,  rich people try to give money to the poor.  Thanks, Rose for your comment.

    Hi Dara

Many people suffer from hunger in the world, if we avoid eating, maybe we feel hunger. but many people are homeless, they don't have any shelter and live in streets, how can we feel the suffering of homeless people???!!!

    • Nukta khob, Saba! One of the means of fasting is to feel the hunger of those who suffer. When we fast we feel that way. Consequently, we have to remember those people who do not have the mouthful for one day and we try to do something about it. It was indeed a good point from your part, my respected lady. a Ramadan is a chance for us to feel the sufferings of the poor. Thanks, Saba for your smart comment.

  • For those who are interested in knowing more about Ramadan, please, see my blog on Ramadan four years ago. I said I would write about it but owing to the current situation and the lockdown, I couldn't do it. My apology.

  • What is the final hope of doing this mores? I mean the speciality of the Ramadan. Is it a festival? Is there any special day in the end of the month to celebrate? How you celebrate it ?

    • Neer nalavar Keshala! Ramadan is the season of collecting good things. It is the month of fasting for God. We start from dawn till sunset. We do that to have forgiveness, mercy, and to be free from the fire of hell. There is one night in this month which is better than a thousand months of worship to The Almighty. You can see my previous blog on Ramadan in twenty eleven. At the end of the month, we celebrate Eid. We pray and go to our relatives. Thanks, Keshala for your comment.
