Practising English Online

This blog is motivated by Tara Benwell's writing challenge. To be honest, I like writing challenges because you can see different sparkling ideas from different bloggers, and that's really a cool thing!

Hello, everyone! I am Mickey! I joined MyEC during my last summer holiday. It was in July if my memory serves me well. I am writing this blog to share with you my adventures of practising English on MyEC.
You may want to ask why I joined MyEC. That's a question, and I have thought about it every once in a while. As time goes by, according to my deepened acquaintance to MyEC, my motivation is becoming clear. The reason why I joined MyEC or you can say why I have stayed on MyEC is that, MyEC is a useful site for English studying. Some members may not have found its power because of lack of an overall knowledge of this site, but I can say, the longer you stay here, the more useful things you will find on this site . MyEC is just like Doraemon's treasure bag if you are patient, modest and enterprising enough.

Ok, let's come straight to the point. In the past several months, I have picked up many new words from the other members. Also I've practised my writing a lot by trying to write my own blogs, and this one is my 73rd blog.
Now let me share with you my experience.

Word.
1. Join the main room. Don't be afraid that you can't integrate into the main room. You can choose a topic and invite the others to discuss it. Through the discussion, try your best to express what you think, meanwhile, keep an eye for the others, pick up their good ideas and new words. Add the new words to your word bank and try to practise them in the main room. Mind you, just pick up the right ones. If you can't be sure, you can ask the others or look up your dictionary.
2. Chat with natives or advanced members in private room. As for this point, I just have one thing to remind, don't push anyone who isn't available to chat, or you could disturb them or even scare them away, lol. Be polite and understanding, it is not their duty to help you. However, don't worry too much, most natives or advanced members are very kind and glad to help you.

3. Ask advice from English teachers and moderators. They are a big treasure here. I know some kind teachers here, such as T Mal, Tim New, Yupa, Eric, Bright-light, Dayne and so on. Of course there are teachers groups here as well. They are like a walking dictionary! In addition, the moderators know this site very well, you can ask help from them, and they will tell you some very valuable links.

Writing
1. Do some reading. Read what? There are many nice blogs here on MyEC, Featured Blogs, Latest Blogs, Most Popular Blogs, whatever kind. When you are not in a chat mood, you can take a break by reading the blogs here. There are also many interesting discussions there.
2. Write your own blog. Practice makes perfect, only when you start to write your own blog, can you check to see if you really have mastered what you have learnt. By writing, you can practise your expression skills, your words, and your writing skills as well. Don't worry that you have nothing to write, or how to write a nice blog, just have a try! You can write anything you like, even what you have eaten for lunch.

Um... these are my humble ideas, thanks for reading my garrulous words. Best wishes for you and your English learning.
