One blog per week

Yes, I mean we should try to write at least one blog each week - the more the better, though.

It makes sense because only when you write can you know you still need to make an effort to learn English - chances are, you'll still make mistakes when writing in English. It may seem there is nothing more to learn when you don't write.

Why not write one right now while you're still here or still hanging out on MyEC? I assume you may have run out of ideas - you're not sure what to write; you're still afraid of making mistakes, or you may even have tried to write something perfect or flawless; or you don't think you can express yourself clearly when you do have an idea for a blog.

If that's the case for you, you're not alone - most of us may have tried to write one but failed to, just because of the aforementioned reasons. Unfortunately, the best way to improve is to practic/se - there's no shortcut.

In fact, English can be used to express any idea effectively or nicely, just as your mother tongue does. Try to write more and appreciate English's charm. So, why not write a blog now to see how well you can use it, with all the new words you just learned somewhere else?

Yes, I suggested you write when you really feel like writing, but you may lose interest in writing if you don't keep doing it. I suggest you write one blog a/per week!

Tell me why you have failed to write one - I'm looking forward to reading your blog soon!

  • Thanks Nina!
    Chances are your spoken English will improve if you can express yourself very well in written English:))

  • I was looking for the best title for you Expector Smith so I went through comments and interestingly I found a range of titles from Hey to Sir :)
    So Hello :)
    That was truly encouraging.I love writing and I do believe it's really influential in language improvement but when it's accompanied by a good speaking practice.Because there are a lot of words we use in our writing but not in our speaking.So we have to plan to bring all those words into our speaking vocabulary storage.The same story happens for grammar.Anyway , I totally agree. Let's give it our best shot.

    The best
    Nina.
  • Thanks, Onee!

  • Dear Expector,,

    I don't know why, but it's not easy for me to write blogs these weeks. I'll try, though. ^_^

  • @eman

    Yes,we tend to 'put off until tomorrow what we can do today'. Writing a blog is just like drawing a picture - sometimes you even can't make a few sentences, let alone a blog.

    @bet

    Happy Eid! Write when you feel like writing or when you can find the time to write!

    @SNR

    Yes, it's hard to find something suitable to write. Wait until you're sure what you want to write. I remember I enjoyed reading your blogs.

    @Risty

    I understand it can be so hard to find the time to write a blog. The thing is, it takes time and effort to write one. Don't stop writing, though!

    @Adaline

    Yes, sometimes we can be so 'lazy'. Writing can be fun, though. Keep it up!

  • Dear Expector, I would like to say, 'thank you' for the lovely idea. I think I should follow this. I know nowadays I am getting lazy. I will try my best do that. Because in two weeks we are getting our Summer holidays. I should try to write more.

    Thank you!

  • Hello, Sir Expector!

    I don't know what to say (guilty) but I agree with you here. Unfortunately, there will be a moment wherein you'll think about other things and some priorities. I can honestly say that I fell in love with writing but just like in any relationship, there's always a time that you have to think if you have grown? is there any progress? have you seen yourself useful to other people?

    Anyhow, at least we should try once a week...given the fact that we have time to write. As for me, I got so very busy on my studies and work but I still write~~~inside my head. :D

    Thanks for reminding us! Good job, as always!

  • Thanks smith! Really, your this blog has inspired me to write a new blog. Actually I have been looking for a topic to write for a few days. And, you may also know we recently celebrated Eid so we were on vacation and I had to attend some guests too so I was quite busy. But, I must write soon!

  • @Rosemary

    Thanks for commenting! Yes, it's not always so easy to write a blog - it can take lots of time and effort to write one which is fun and grammatically correct.

    You're doing the right thing, though: you add or make comments when you fail to write your own blog. I really appreciate it - keep it up!

    @arif

    Interesting comments! You do have a point there. Yes, it can be so fun to write blogs here. In fact, blogs here on MyEC are usually so soothing. It can be such 'torture', though, if you're trying to show how well you can write in English. MyEC, however, is an English-learning website - that means we should try to make as few mistakes as possible.

    I hope you'll agree it will help improve your 'professional English' to communicate with others here by using 'general English'. Thanks for the comments!

    @Mishaikh

    Great! I'll check it out! You're a role model here on MyEC - you never quit or give up, no matter how frustrated, which I do appreciate. I hope other members can follow suit. The thumbs up!

  • When we come to this site, we try to use different tone, expressions, ideas, thoughts, and sense of humour with different frame of mind to relax ourselves. If we do the same things which We do in office, college and in a formal meeting, writing blogs or communication seems like a serious punishment. For instance, I can't write for fun in office like I used to do here. Here showing vague information and pedantry is not rewarding you anything but attracting contingent of girls.

    Sorry for my bitter truth :)
