NEUSCHWANSTEIN(My magic trip to fairyland)

Do you know this picturesque German castle of the King Ludwig II?Come with me,I'll show you!

When I have first seen this magic castle on a picture-the Schloss of Neuschwanstein-I knew right away, that once in a life I have to see it.

Panorama, with the Austrian Alps at the background

Fortunately,at the given time,we have been working in Alsace with my husband,-in France.
Situated not so far from there, one day we had a possibility to do a one day trip from Strasbourg to Bavaria by car- in Germany.
Even the journey was magical to me,we were driving through fairyland, with huge mountains at the background, with their snowy peaks.
I adore mountains, they reflect power, and this castle is perfectly fits to this "dreamland"!
Neuschwanstein is situated in the majestic mountains of Allgau region of Bavaria,-which attracts the greatest number of visitors.

On the way-(We are climbing up to the Schloss)

The builder of this Schloss is King Ludwig II of Bavaria.

He was born on 25.aug.1845 in Munich. The little prince brought up very strictly by his father, but he was not guided properly towards the intrinsic mission as a representative of a nation.

He was eccentric and had an exaggerated sense of power.
after the death of his father,Maximillian II of Bavaria ,in 1864,he became king of Bavaria,on the age of 18 and a half.Soon after it he looses interest in the state affairs.
He realised, that he was only a figurehead of the state,it was the two chaimbers of the Bavarian Parliament, that took fundamental decisions.

Very soon the first ideas about the building of a theatre and castles grew in him.
In 1869 the construction of Neuschwanstein was begun, and with the construction of his othr castles,it increased his debt ever more. The construction was an immense work, and wasn't completly finished by 1883.In the spring of 1884 the rooms on the 3rd floor were habitable, and Ludwig II spent a quarter of his time there, during the remaining two years until his death.

Unfortunatly,it is forbidden,to take pictures inside the castle, that's why I attach the picture of the thron room and the photo of the bedroom.

Without these pictures,I couldn't describe with adjectives, how pompously it is furnished, and its interior decoration is also fascinating.

You have to see it with your own eyes,to believe it:

However,I admire the achievments of King Ludwig II,he had a very misterious life, and a tragic death too.

You can read about the life of that extraordinary King of Bavaria here:

I am very happy, that we made this journey there, the castle is beyond words, undescribably beautiful, far the most outstanding,I have ever seen!

Thank you for reading my blog!
