Hello my dear EC friends,

I’m Scarlett,

** I come from Vietnam. I’m here with determination and enthusiasm to master my English and pursue my unawakened dream due to the effect of a busy life. Thanks MyEC for waking it up and motivating me toward my goals. I know now it’s very difficult. But there is a saying “Stay hungry, stay foolish” where everything we do now will make sense in the future It tells us to keep going and hear the voice of our heart. So, I’ll never give up! Today is Dec.19th, 2012. I decided to write this blog to look back and assess what I’ve learned up to now :-)  **

**(Corrected by Teacher Anele)**

At first, I’d like to express my thankfulness to you guys who are taking your precious time for reading my blog. Hopefully, it would bring you a little bit pleasant feeling.

Time flies

It was six months has gone by since the day I found out this site by accidentally walking on the internet in a single boring day. Six months is not enough long for making a difference in such a normal life but for bringing some joys, some sadness and something that we haven’t expected ever before. But whatever they were, we’ve been going through it with all our hearts, haven’t we? And I’m proud to say that I’ve made the right decision to choose MyEC for learning English language and living with it everyday. Although at the present I’m still finding my feet, but I gained much more confidence in making my own words than before. That is really the most motivation for me to keep it up :-)

As time goes by, Let’s see what I've been doing here...

Chat room

The first place I come to get to know about MyEC. I’ve found out so many international friends who came from so many nations with a lot of difference from cultures, religions, climate, and the most impressive thing that I always got confuse but was interested in that is the time zone. Sometime I said “good morning!” for someone who was in the evening from their side and vice versa :D

I believe that you guys must be in the same situation with me at least once in the past, weren’t you?  It’s so funny, right? The process sounds fascinating, though. But everything has two sides. Just talking to new friends and ask such common questions everyday seems  boring and not effective in learning English. Moreover, there also were some not good guys who just come to tease and waste others’ time. They even ask you some bad things. So, I don’t come there frequently as before any longer. Just choose some good friends to keep in touch.

General things:

I joined in general discussions, commented in blogsphotos ... sent my friend request for some friends who look active in learning English because I think I can learn from them so many useful things. And I was right they helped me correct my mistakes day by day. They are very friendly and kind person. I got a lesson that helping friend also is helping ourselves to become more perfect in learning language. So, I’m so glad to welcome all of new friends and those who ask me some help. And I feel very happy whenever I could do a little thing for them :-)

Learning with Teachers Hala, Alene, Gabriel, Galina, Tara

I joined in EC Virtual Classroom of Rajesh's and did some tasks of English tenses posted by Teacher Hala. I received her and Teacher Anele’s corrections. Well, you know, I couldn’t express my feeling at that time. I’ve never thought that Teachers with their busy work in real life could come here and helped learners correct their mistakes but at that time. That’s very kind of them.

The next one was the pronunciation class of Teacher Gabriel and Teacher Galina’s. I owe my teachers a big thank that I think I never can say enough for everything they’ve been doing. They've taught and corrected me and all their students in learning how to know and make the correct pronunciation. I like and appreciate the sense of humor of Teacher Gabriel, it really makes the atmosphere more relaxed and very excited with some challenge he gives every now and then. The most recent blogs of him are Question Tags and Hidden Idioms for instance. I respect the kindness of Teacher Galina. She always welcomes and cares about every student with her encouraging and thoughtful words. They really are the great teachers who always know how to inspire students to make a difference.

Writing Challenges and voice blogs of Teacher Tara are still difficult for me to do, but I was getting start with my first writen blog. Thank you Dear Tara for your kind support.

Having fun and relaxing learning.

Karaoke Group of Selma's is the place I’ve been enjoying singing, recording and listening everyone who loves music. Their warmed hearts really made me feel like I’m living in a real family. I was having a great time with friends there.

Commenting for friends, joking with them and giving captions for Wordless Wednesday challenge are funny as well. I enjoy very much.

Making voice chat with friend via skype is great! You know at the first time, I was very very shy. But my EC friends helped me so much, and I’ve had much fun with them :D

And so on...

Well, that’s all I can share with you. I know that what I have been doing here just was a piece of something that other fellows could do, but I myself was bending over backwards even had to burn the midnight oil for learning with such a very slow computer. Just now I could see the benefit from them even it was just a bit :) So that I will keep it up and learn more.

Words from sincerely yours:

MyEC, it is really the second sweet family of mine. There were so many memorable things that I’ll never forget in my whole lifelong. In learning, they were the lessons I’ve been learning, the mistakes I’ve been making and the funny memories I’ve been having with friends. In communicating, they were not just some honey things but some bitter memories in talking and misunderstanding.

My dear, Whatever It was you still are my friends. And nothing gonna change it unless you reject my friendship for you. Sometime you drove me up to the wall and even made me cry. And another time, you lift me up to the sky with our hearty caring and make me smile. So how should I do? Just can give you a sincere smile and gratefulness with all my heart for what you have been doing and for being my friend.

I also want to say Sorry for all my mistakes I was making that might hurt you, break your heart. I really didn’t mean to do it, dear. Maybe sometimes, we go with the flow of life and forget to turn back our head just a single glance to know what we were leaving behind. Please forgive me, my Dear. Because after all, I think

Sending my deepest Gratitude and Respect for my all kind Teachers. I can't be luckier to be your student.

"Please correct me if you find any mistakes. I would appreciate."

My sincere Thanks to Teacher Anele for kindly correcting my article

Thank*you*from*the*bottom*of*my*heart

I wish all the best for all of you.

God bless.

Thanks a lot for stopping by. I wish this second family always bring you joyfulness and happy time with every friends especially who used to make you a greeting smile :)

  • hihihi... How lovely teacher you are, my dear Anele.

No guide, no realization. That is always right!

Please come to my heart, I hide all my love for you there :) Thank you very much. (are you tired my Dear? Rajesh always feels tired whenever I say thanks for him :D ) Actually, I feel a bit nervous now that you would be exhausted one day by my nonstop questions...haha...So, please Anele! come to the Beauty Salon for taking a massage service right after replying my question, okay? hihihi...

Turn back the issue. Well, what can I say now? It looks like a dark room where I'd been sitting at before your light came to me :) Now, I quite got all the problem! I noted them in my mind already. And moreover, I've learned some more sentences in your response.

Thanks a lot and big hugs.

  • Thanks for dropping by with your nice words and invitation, dear eman_islami :)

BTW, how about enjoying time in MyEC. We could learn so many useful things from other friends and Teachers here. My speaking skill is not good, So, I'd love to join with you ! :)

  • @ My Dear Anele,

I feel so ashamed and confused with my grammatical errors. I can't thank you enough for your kindness and thoughtfulness in taking time replying me. Your explanation is so clear, my Dear. Now I got it!

One more thing, I hope you won't get upset with my humble knowledge but enthusiasm in asking :P I believe that you've got my mean when I used "affect" (but it was used in wrong grammar)

So, can I use "consequence" instead of "effect"? Because I think the problem is the busy life affected my dream in a negative way. So, if I use effect will everyone think that the problem was affected in a positive way? hic hic... I confuse with them.

Thank you very much again, again and again, my dear teacher.

  • @ N Naim,

Thanks a lot for dropping by with nice comment, I appreciate it!

Have a nice time, dear N Naim! :)

  • Very well expressed blog. I could see you had put many effort to write this blog. You told everything which also related to the other learners in English as well. Keep it up.

  • @ My dear Angel Anele,

I'm in the nine cloud to see you again without punishment ... hehehe...

Well, I wish the time would be so slow to keep you be here much much more long time with us. I always happy to see that you are happy with your work. Wish you the best luck.

Anyway, Dear, never mind for mistaken about me :P, everyone likes you, they confused as they see my avatar at first.

As for the mistake. Dear, I think "EFFECT" is used in the positive way, but my blog, I mean it is in the negative case as the busy life keep my dream become unawakened. That's not good. So, I used "AFFECT" I think...

Would you please give me your correction. Thanks so much in advance, my dear Anele!
