My Club 14th Years Anniversary

Last Saturday we celebrated 14th years anniversary of our English Club "Deli". The theme was "14 Years Old Express Yourself" and the dress code was "Harajuku style". Our meeting room for that day was very special, our meeting room for that day was decor with many sakura flowers, paper crane, balloons and ribbons. We need about 2 hours to prepare the room for the meeting. Some of the attendee was coming with special dress, even some came with their usual dress. That Saturday was very, very special even the birthday cake was very special too.

One of friends said that the cake was too cute to be cut, but still we cut it and it tasted so yummy. That Saturday was the longest meeting we had, we usually end the meeting at 6 PM but that day we end the meeting almost 7 PM but everybody was really happy, we sang and dance together in the meeting room everybody express their 14 years old at that time. That Saturday everybody was 14 years old.

At the end of the meeting, we break the balloons together, take pictures and then clean up the mess we made. It was so fun!Happy birthday to my beloved Deli Toastmasters Club. Let's Learn English More!!!

  • yeah, you're right "Never say Never" :D

  • Thanks for the explanation, Sanggee. I think it's a good activity for developing spoken skills. And thanks  for the invitation....it would be great to visit Indonesia....I think it's a very beautiful country...but it's so far from Russia....at the same time there's a proverb "never say never"...so let's hope for the best...

  • Yeah, everybody should come in front and tell a story using the word of the day if they are chosen including me. our game master will ask a question to guide us to make a story to tell using the word of the day.

You are very welcome Galina. if you come to Medan, Indonesia you are very welcome to our club. ^^

  • Hello, Sanggee!

It's very interesting! Tell me, please, do you make up stories with this word? I like this activity. Thanks for sharing...

  • Hello Galina,

    Thank you so much.

In our English club, there's no really a teacher. We have word of the day for every meeting, the attendee was chosen one by one to use the WOD to speak in front of the others. to choose the speaker we usually use a game just like the last picture; it was a game (dance game) to choose the speaker. And at the end of the meeting the language evaluator will give her/his correction about all of the grammatical error we used (without call the name of the speaker). the role takers will change every week (our club meeting is twice a week). And for the best speaker there will be a great present.

I think that's about my English Club.

    ^^

  • Looking at all those photos I can't help smiling, too. They're so positive, so joyful! I think all members of the club are very active and creative and cheerful. Can you share with some activities you hold in your club! It would be very interesting!

Congratulations on such a special event!
