Luka Modric

I was watching the television with my wife last night. It was the time for the sports news. My wife at once stood up and made her face. She does not like sports very much. Many times, she quarreled with me about it. What is the gain or benefit behind it? Her thoughts were a waste of time. I always try to control myself when we make a fight about it.

I love soccer a lot, and Brazil is my favorite team although my Brazilian friend, PGM does not approve of that and he told me many times that Brazil was not the same team as before. He was right. We were knocked out before reaching the quarter-final. I told her to make a cup of tea for me while watching the sports news. She did. Before taking the first sip, the face of that handsome Croatian captain was in full screen, and the news stunned me. Luka Modric is the best player in Europe edging his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo and the forward of Liverpool, Mohammed Salah.

I thought that Ronaldo would win. I knew that my Brazilian friend was absolutely right.
That Croatian midfielder led his team to win the title of the champions league many times before leading his own country to play the final match against France. I knew that that round ball filled with air gives you if you give it. I was too sentimental to assume that Brazil would win forgetting that the performance of Neymar and his team was not convincing and was not good enough.

  • Bilang salam saya untuk saudara anda, mod. Onee. Extend my greetings to her. Those handsome men have many fans. I wonder if he is going to beat both players again on the coming title of the best player in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo won that many times. For a change, the committee might give him the title. Mohammed Salah is a bit far from it in my guess. I mean owing to the achievements of the Croatian midfielder. Thanks, mod. Onee for your comment.

  • My sister likes Luca Madric so much in FIFA World Cup.

After the 2018 WC, I don't follow any matches. :D

  • Kata rahmat, Mr. President! Thanks for pressing the like button.

  • Danyvaad Miximus Potato! Thanks for pressing the like button.

  • Koy baat nahi SNR! I guess you are interested in cricket, am I right? Thanks for your comment.

  • Sore wa tadashi, Tam! I will start with the last two lines of your comment. The Japanese team was having a good lead in the first half of that tournament of the world cup in Russia, 2018. They really had control over their rival, but as you said their physical ability went down in the second half. That was the main reason why the result was converted suddenly in the second half. Thanks for your information about the blog.

  • European teams are organized and players are big and strong. Players in South American have a good technique but a little individualism. Players in Africa have a physical ability but a little individualism. When African players who have a physical ability added European well-organized teams, it is natural that European teams become stronger. As for Japan team, they are organized but their bodies are not big and their physical ability are not as high as African players. We must find something against other teams.

  • Oh! My Goodness, our moderator was a basketball player and a fan of her team. I didn't know about that. No one told me. To be frank with you, my enthusiasm for basketball and cricket is less than soccer. Of course, each game has its audience and its fans. The cousin of my wife is a basketball player. She always comes to visit my wife, but they never talk about the game.

Fatima knows that Fatima (my wife) does not like any kind of sports. They talk about the weather, the internet, women items. In your comment, you said that the fan forgets the next week and come back.

Do you know the last world cup in Brazil, we were beaten by the German team. The Brazilian people cried and I cried with them. I have been crying since then. I even wrote a blog about it last year. I think it was called Sympathy. Thanks, mod. Paula for your nice intervention.

  • Hi Dara!!  I used to be a big fan of our type of football and college basketball.....and I like you had my favorites.....I loved the excitement.  It was such fun!!!  I loved those times when we would make food and park ourselves in front of the tv to watch the game.  Unfortunately over time …..life took me away from my tv set...….and I lost touch with the games......and never picked it back up.  I remember the losses and how terrible it seemed at those times.....but always the fan I knew they would get right back out the next week and do better!!!!  Of course that didn't always happen either.  But still I stayed the hopeful fan.  I love an underdog......so when my team was losing......my faith became stronger.  Just like yours Dara......we love our teams......no doubt!!!

  • Soredokoroka Tam! On the contrary Tam. Japan did a good job in the first half, but I did not know what happened to them. The result was two nill to your team and suddenly the balance was different in the second half. It could be the experience of those players and in an answer to your question, the European teams have got a lot of experience from the migrant players from Latin America, Africa. Even Japan is doing the same thing now. Also, put in your mind that most of the European teams are from America and Africa. They have players from America and other parts of the world. Thanks, Tam for your comment.
