Rainy nostalgia.....

Getting soaked to the bone in the rains. A pleasant and sordid experience at the same time. On one hand the showers make you all shivery while on the other they tend to relate to your being somehow. But its one of the best seasons of the year, this rainy season.Seems to wash you and your worries away as well....The tiny drop dripping from a rooftop seems to say a lot. It appeared from the boundless skies and to this will it return. Obviously, its glory is not everlasting. Somewhat like us; humans.

Poem; My true agony

Title: My true agony

I broke my pen
my favorite thing
I couldn't describe
my true agony

behind my words
there are silent screams
no one can feel
my sorrow

my tears never lie
but I'm hiding them
under the night shadow

I couldn't stop thinking
of whom I love..
my best fellow

who left me alone
In this narrow world
and gone far away

I broke my pen
my favorite thing
I wish I could describe
my true agony.

A good friend is someone we can count on, as well as being so much more.A good friend allows you a safe space to share your deepest thoughts and needs--without worry of being judged, criticized or made to feel silly for feeling the way you do.Friends cheer each other on, laugh and cry together and just plain commiserate and listen to each other. That's why friends are friendsMy friend: Janemejaya Silva Silangcruzb

"Friendship is one mind in two bodies." --Menclus

My Friend: Steve, a professor from England

How we became friends: He was a patient of mine. Steve never thought he would have to have an operation in a country far from his until he suffered from an acute abdominal condition when he taught in a university of China. He said it was my English that helped him decide to undergo surgery in another county.

Why we stayed friends: When he was in hospital, he found that I was not only a professional doctor,

It can be a challenge to ask a 'question' correctly, especially for learners who usually fail to ask a correct one when they try to do so. Don't get me wrong - 'question' here means a 'question sentence'.So let's practise asking questions here. Your task:1. In the comment section, you can write:--'yes/no' question or closed question, such as: Do you think so?--'wh'-question or open question, such as: What do you think of my suggestion?2. Before you write your question, you can try to answer one

Every time an English question pop up into my mind, I write it down in my notebook. Whether it is related to grammar or words that have to find meanings or just common expressions that I would like to incorporate to my own pile of vocabularies. What I do especially in understanding grammar rules is after I write it I don't consult yet grammar books..I ask first two or three of the members of MyEC co-members and friends who I know knowledgeable with these matter..Then I study what they have said

On every Sunday afternoon, I go to an English club in Hanoi in which I live. Its name is HYEC which stands for Hanoi Youth English Club. How people often address its name, however, is quite unique. That is, they say "hai ếch" which is composed of two Vietnamese words. "Hai ếch" means "two frogs". How can they say that?

First of all, look at HY in HYEC. Because HY is somewhat similar to HI. How English word "Hi" is pronounced is very much similar to how Vietnamese word "hai" is pronounced. Yet, th

Here's my top ten tips on writing blogs (just for anyone who may want to write a good blog):

1. Make sure you really know why you want to write a blog. You may just aim to share your idea, thought, opinion, feelings and so on. Or, you're trying to introduce something (a special holiday, festival, food, etc) to us.

2. Choose a proper topic. A proper topic is something you're familiar with, that you think is fun, decent or not offensive. Avoid topics you are unable to cope with or control.

3. Make yo

As per Teacher Tara's recommendation, who has encouraged me to move this writing of mine from the ‘comment’ to my Blog Post. As I wrote especially for the person who made her interest on her blog post for everyone in MyEC, so here it is as below;

Firstly, I would like to tell you all, that I have earnestly & truly confronted some dilemmas myself due to having improved my English much lesser than what I expected and something like staying in the very same level for a long time without any future i

list

Did you know that the most popular blog posts often contain lists? Top ten lists are very popular. For some reason our eyes are attracted to headings and bold text. Numbered headings are easy to follow. Even if you don't have time to read the whole post, you can get the gist.

If you want people to read your blogs, it is a good idea to include lists. These can be bulleted or numbered lists. For this month's writing challenge you are going to create a Top Ten List on any topic! Within your list you

Could we improve our speaking skills just by writing? I think so. Let's write a dialogue/dialog to see if it works - it can be called a speaking challenge.

A dialog is just a conversation between two or more people. Here, we just try to write down what people may actually say in a conversation.

You can write a dialog:
·on any topic, as long as it's an acceptable one.
·between student and teacher, shopper and shop assistant, woman and man, patient and doctor, A and B, and so on. You just imagine a si

I deeply apologise

I would like to apologize to everybody who has read my blog. I have not done my best, for example, I have written a lot of bovine excreta for which I deeply and sincerely apologize. (I have this American dictionary that forces me to use American spellings) (A writer should ponder a one word which he uses for about 2 or 3 hours before he pens it (I have used the word pen instead of write to show I know English.)I have decided to make up for this by teaching how to write an essay. However, you wil
