It's A Small World.

The more I travel the more I realize just how small this world really is. I have lived in many countries in my lifetime. (And yes, I am old, but don't ask.) Each new place is as amazing as the last. Every country has wonderous places to visit. Each country has beautiful and interesting places to explore.

But more importantly than the places are the people. We see and hear so many bad things happening in the news. I wonder, who the people in these countries really are. Do they have the same hopes and dreams that I do? Do they wish for a healthy life? Do they hope their families will be happy and prosperous? Do they long for many friends or perfer to be alone? Do they worry about love and happiness and success and failure?

I wonder, if they are like me.

I am sharing a picture of some of the students at my school. I invite you to comment and share pictures of your country.

Let's see if it really is "A Small World After All."

  • Hi Vanessa, nice blog!
I agree with you. It is A Small World. I didn´t travel to many countries yet, but i plan it. I lived in United States in different states of east coast (Florida also) and i had the opportunity to meet, interact and work with people from many nations and cultures and i loved the experience. Like u said: more importantly than the places are the people. I wonder how many wars could be avoided if the governors had the same experience we have when we know better the people of different nations and understand they culture, their hopes, way of life, faith,etc... I am having a great experience here at E.C. meeting and making new friends abroad. I invite everybody to visit my country,Brazil in South America, our mean language is brazilian portuguese, but you certainly will meet a lot of smiling faces willing to help you who speaks english and spanish also, besides other languages. The best time to visit is in February, during the summer season when it happens the most popular festival of our country: the carnival. The Brazil is the country of the World Cup 2014. I hope many of you can come! Best Regards for all! :)
  • People tend to wonder if people in different places or countries think or behave totally differently. But, it seems that is not the case. It seems people even in a very poor remote vallage can communicate with us without difficulty. They seems to know everything we may think they don't know. They may love or hate something or someone just as we do. Amazing?!  It's the education!!!

  • Dear Vanessa, nice blog, I like it!

After all it is a small world, and with different people. Not all people living in different countries are like you :D maybe because they didn't understand yet what you have understood from this life (since you're old) regarding hopes, healthy life, families, happiness and success.

By the way, have you ever been to Algeria??? :D

I hope that you'll like my comment ;)

  • The world is indeed getting "smaller". I love to travel and fortunate enough to be able to travel to a few countries. But even without having to have to travel to all over the world, I manage to "meet" some really nice friends from near and far wide. EC is making it possible for me to talk and share some interesting stories with so many friends from all over the world.

    Nice blog. :-)

  • Vanessa, I agree with you! We are now living in Earth Village! I also want to travel around and see how beautiful the world is! Giggling~

I hope you can visit south China, you'll find something different!

    Nice blog! I liked it~ ;-)
