Hello guys, I saw a title among blogs, named "why we cant stop using smartphones" or someting like that and i want to tell you that "WE CAN". There some reasons of me stopping using my smart phone but there is only one main reason which is that I wanted to see what changes when i dont use my smartphone anymore. It has been one week already and so far things went well. And I can list what things has changed after stop using it.

1. More time to think for things around you.

2. More time for friends. At least I am not playing my phone anymore while they are talking to me.

3. I figured out there are high buildings in our neighboor hood. (when you do not use phone you check around more often)

There are also negative sides of not using smart phones

4. I can not take a photo of anywhere. (but not a big problem)

5. I can not call anyone or people can not reach me easily. (I am just emailing with my brother)

I can add a few more negative and positive advantages of not using smart phone but for now it seems enough.

And i am not thinking to use smart phone for a while. I may use an old phone that has no internet connection, has no camera. Old phones' batteries last so long it is very useful.

If you want to change somethings in your lifes start with not using smartphones.

  • Hello EC Member,

If it is matter of recieving messages(that do not need internet to be send) and calls then you can use an old phone as i do use xD

  • Paul, I cant switch off my mobile phone for a week because I receive very important messages and calls almost everyday especially from my officials. If it wasn't like this I would switch it off even for a month, certainly:)

  • Hello Onee-chan,

If you make it let me know, thanks for you comment.

  • Wow! That's cool, Paul! One week is a more than a test.

I can do,,, on holiday. :)

  • Do well!

  • Hi Roman,

It was really very easy process. Today i got an old phone and i am using it i guess i will keep using it a few more months or maybe more. Thanks for you comment dude.

  • Hi Paul!

    You are so brave!

    How could you survive?

Have you faced that effect of extreme dependence? Like addicted people feel when they stop taking the drugs.

  • Hello Diah,

"Not now" means never xD usually it happens like that, Btw I stopped using it when i had to use it. One of my life mottos is "now or never".

  • Omg.... paul!! I've ever watched the same stories on Youtube. One had stopped using smartphone for a year!!! I can't believe it :/ But then he told that it was really okay when he left that "smart"phone cause it made him so addicted. One of his statement that stays in my mind is "Well you can reach internet and get a lot of information, news, etc. But then, what is your action in real?? You just stuck of knowing them all but keep in silent and do nothing... or at least you update on your social media".

I also want to try so, but seems quite hard for me :/ cause nowadays I need to communicate with others for important things. But one little achievement for myself is... I can handle myself not to be so addict to social media such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LINE, etc. I can be very okay not to signing it up for a day or even for weeks. Now the site/app that i often to open is WhatsApp and MyEC, rest of all are the news/articles in Chrome.

Maybe I would like to try the same like you, but not now! Thanks for sharing... and keep it up!

  • Hello Hman,

Reading my blog isn't necessary at all and you can find any location by asking someone as we all used to do this in the past. But yeah if you can controll it then not a problem at all. Thanks for your comment.
