Irma, no excuse, you made us almost homeless

Hi, my friends! I hope you will exscuse us for not being active these days. You may know that hurricane Irma hit Florida a few days ago and now it is recognized as the most severe huricane in history. We are lucky to be in Ukraine now, but we have lost at least a half of our real estate in Florida these days. I have been living in America for many years but I have never seen cars or boats or buses flying over the cities! The hurricane is calming down a little but is still dangerous and moving North. There are human victims and a lot of distructions all over. There is no power, no connection and we can only hope that the people we know are safe. We can't get in touch with anyone in the storm zone. The area where we live is flooded, many small towns are destroyed or washed off. So, it will take us many months to come to after such distructions and loses. Of course, nobody is guilty as it is a natural disaster but we are mourning for all the victims of this tragedy.

  • Thanks for your concern, dear Elen! Of course, our governmet will help people survive, but it will not help them reconstruct their houses, maybe just a little. So, most of people may count on themselves only

  • I am so sorry to hear this, dear Tanya. Thanks God you and Danny are safe. I hope that people of Florida will get back to normal life soon and that government will do something for that.

  • Dear Estanis, I am happy to know that everything is Ok with your friends.

Our pets are fine as they are with us in Kiev. I, too, hope that our houses are not destroyed. They are brick. But I think they are flooded for sure.

  • Dear Rose, I completely agree.

  • Yes Tanya, they're fine. They live on a second floor of a housing complex and mortared the windows, they also parked their cars in the hospital where she works so material damaged was not high.
I Hope your neighbors, pets, and house in general are fine when you'll be back. Best regards.
  • Yes, Tanya, of course, we heard about and we saw the destruction and the despair of the people. As you said, it seems as if it's a revenge of the earth upon our careless behaviour. We endanger the nature and everythings seems out of control. The less I can understand politicians like Trump which always dispute that our acts have impact. He denieds still that our acts are causing the climate changing and the clobal warming.

  • Thanks, dear Mishaikh for being with us. We do appreciate it!

  • Dear Rose, neither can I! A hurricane of the 4-5th category in Florida is unprecedented. The Florida Keys and other Caribbean islands look like a huge heap of broken wood or like a trash dump. Miami, Tampa and many other cities and towns are flooded and destroyed. Nature is merciless. It seems to take a revenge upon our careless treating it. I believe you all heared about the strong earthquake in Mexico these days.

  • Relieved to hear that you both are at safe place. I have been seeing Irma on News regularly.  You are right this is a natural disaster.  May Allah help you all.

  • Every day when I'm watching the News, I can't believe. Nature's violence is without mercy, ptiylessly and cruel. People lose their their possessions, many of them lose their livelihood and some even their lives.

I am relieved that you both are at a secure place. For yor friends and family members, as far as they are affecte by "Irma", I wish they are healthy in safety. I wish you can contact them soon.
