Life has its own beautiful ways to teach you and transform you. Few simple habits and advices can change your life, just like I had experienced in my student life. When I was in seventh grade, my social science teacher asked me to participate in quiz competition. I was hesitating at first and was not very confident but she encouraged me. I started to prepare for the competition. The day before my quiz competition, I asked my father about some state's minister but he scolded me for not giving attention to the newspaper reading. My team stood first in that competition. Since that day I started to pay attention to newspaper reading with full devotion and later practiced with my friends. This habit paid me off in eighth standard. In eighth standard, one of my classmate gave my name for the debate competition without my acknowledgement. And I came to know about it on the day of the competition. I was very angry at her because I was not prepared. How could I be? But I went for the competition. I had to go second number, so I utilised that time to jot down all the point I could recall at that time. I won that competition. That win changed my point of view. I couldn't have realised about my strengths and potentials if my classmate had not given my name. I realised that we all should be prepared for every situation. It is not always possible to get time to prepare in advance. That experience taught me that "knowledge never goes waste" Since then I've had so many experiencez where this investment in knowledge has helped me.

  • Learning for the sake of knowledge and wisdom, never goes waste indeed. Beside the treasure of knowledge a learner collects makes him/her outstanding.  Why Adam was outstanding against the angels, because he was taught 'ilm' knowledge.  Our Prophet's (May peace and mercy of Allah be upon him) first revelation was "Read".  So, O'offsprings of Adam keep reading.
