I.D.I.O.M.A.7.I.C 2.0

My fellow ECians(?),

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOng time!

Those who still remember, eons ago, I used to post something called I.D.I.O.M.A.7.I.C. This is the very first. And this one always cracks me up thanks to my AWESOMEGURL's hilarical answer...

I still like to post some more. 'Cause frankly, I can't get over how hilarious your guesses were.

Point is, I think it was getting a little stale. I decided to switch it up a little. I may well do it again soon. Lemme know what y'all think.

Anyhow, I was surfing the net (as one does these days while the world is imploding), and I stumbled upon a site sharing 'International Idioms- from all over the world'. I chose only four of them. Coz, to be honest, some of them were a bit questionable- graphicwise.

Here they are...

Tell me how accurate they are, and I look forward to seeing more examples from you lovely people "from all over the world".

P.S. The pics are arranged in alphabetical order.

  • Heeeyy cool blog! As usually ^_^

Here I share some Spanish idioms that I think might sound funny to foreign ears:

    "Estar como una cabra"
Literally: To be or behave like a goat
Meaning: To be crazy / be off your head

I've been told this one since I can remember... ¬¬

    "Tirar los tejos"
    Literally: Throwing disks at you
Meaning: To flirt / To hit on someone

    "Ir Pedo"
    Literally: Going fart
Meaning: To be drunk / smashed

    Thanks for sharing! ^_^

  • Hi, A738a, it's nice to see you again active here.

As for the German one, it is correct. Not only does it mean confusing someone, we say so when someone tries to lie to us or kid us.

I am looking forward to reading more from you.

    Have a great time.

    • Rose,
