How not to die before you get old?

Hello friends!!! It’s my first blog. There is a short story that I read in a magazine here.

Chiako is active and healthy. She gets up at 7.00 a.m. every day and goes for a brisk walk. Three times a week she plays gate-ball - national sports - with her friends. There is nothing unusual about this, except that Chiako is 102 years old. She is not alone - there are hundreds of centenarians who lead healthy lives this in Okinawa.

Okinawa is a group of Japanese islands between Japan and Taiwan. Near the beach there is a large stone with the following proverb engraved on it: “At 70 you are still a child; at 80 you are just a youth; and at 80, if the ancestors invite into heaven, ask them to wait until you are 100 and then you might consider it”.

Okinawans manage to stay slim in old age by eating a low-calorie diet which consists of three quarter plant food and one quarter animal food.  They eat seven servings of fruit and vegetables every day and they stop eating when they are 80% full. They also keep physically active the natural way by dancing, walking, gardening and so on.

Okinawans have developed a stress-resistant personality. Nobody is in a hurry, timetables are non-existent and there is always tomorrow.

They have strong networks of friends. When someone is ill and doesn’t come to work, a neighbour will always knock on their door to find out how they are.

There’s no magiс pill. If you keep fit, if you have good friends, a healthy diet and a stress-free lifestyle, you will live longer. It’s as simple as that!

Thanks you very much for your attention. And if you find mistakes, please will correct.

Best wishes!

Yes, you are right, it is a good example to follow!

  • Thank you Valentine for sharing a story about Okinawans' life style. It seems that they live in harmony with themselves and with everything around them. We should learn from them.

  • Hello Morse lee!!! Thanks a lot for reading and commenting my blog!!! Yes, of course it is a usual story and we all know and understand it but we do not observe it. I can name myself because I lead a healthy style of life, okay, at least I am trying :)) Some rules are normal for me, it became a part of my life, it is my style  of life :)

    Have a nice time!

  • Hi valentine, Glad to review your blogs ,even though it is an usual story , but it gives us some informaiton, doing some sports in a regulated way is not only good for healty but also make us in high energy all the times .and meantime ,resonable diets and enough sleeptime are not ignored.if everyone could have the good habits ,i am sure everyone could live for a long time ,100year or more.

But actually ,you could find that few peoples could do like that. the young can not set aside some times to do sports, while they have to work overtime to make their economic life better.

and perhaps some peoples are attracted by delicious high-colarine foods ,but some people are have to eat them at noon to save some time to do business ,even some people have to work and enjoy in pub at deep night with their friends or their customers. so much so that ,most of young can not arrange their life in their way .

Anyway ,i am very to enjoy your blogs and hope everyone could post their opnions .

    Best regards,

  • Hi James Shin!

  • Hi, Valentine!

This is a very interesting blog.

In general the majority of people naturally want to live longer but there are some other people who unfortunately don't want to have a long life at all, due to some pain, illness, disability, a bad life circumstance, a failure in life & so on.

This may possibly be one of the ideal free lifestyles for us, as we all wish to have such similar lives in this busy, worldly & dark world.

Thanks for sharing with us, anyway!
