How much money?

How much money should we save if we teach cleaning as a course in schools and Universities?

We must design a good course about teaching all th people how to be clean and how to keep th invironement clean. i think that billions and billions will be saved and can be spent on developing poor areas through all over the world. So please teach people a course of cleaning.

  • Hi Dr Kamal!

I guess, those are two different things: to teach people cleaning and to make people clean/behave.

Kids are taught many subjects at school, but still not all of them are great mathematicians or physicists. Actually some kids hate those subjects, the same way as they hate to clean anything.

That's why I guess, it is almost useless to teach them "cleaning" at school.

    Hi Dr Kamal,

Just like zivi said. You raised a very good question. You seem to feel so hopeless to see people do not understand about cleanliness. This issue won't easily get solved by the amount of money. Time, perseverance, and well-understanding of people will help.

Government generally think about how to recycle trash. That's why they manage to separate trashes, at least in my country. However most people do not be aware of the danger of uncleanliness. Oftentimes, the certain dustbins are not used very well, people throw trash everywhere instead. I also wonder when I think about it. :D I think this course will need years to make people understand.

Thank you for sharing this nice topic.

  • hello Dr. Kamal. you raised a good question, albeit I think it is not an issue of courses how to handle trash but rather how to avoid trash.

I often get a chip on the shoulder walking throughout huge shops (or as they often are called Malls ) seeing everything wrapped twice or triple in plastic foils or packs. Seeing the habit to order everything from online shops that deliver the goods via delivery companies and ,of course, packed in another plastic pack for the sake of a safe hand over. To me, we produce to much of the trash and are used to toss that stuff away. As soon as these trash is out of sight it also is out of mind. Plus, these plastic packs is a huge business. Hence to me the question is not what to do with all that stuff but how to change the habit of wrapping everything in plastic and even look for sustainable materials.

To me this is one of the most important tasks for the future which has to start now.

Thanks for bringing up this topic.
