Honey Bee is Disappearing.

Once I received a newsletter from English club that talks about our environment problems mainly species that are meant to disappear. One newsletter was about the Polar Bear. The second one was about the Disappearing Honey Bee. These two newsletters marked me most. They made me think a lot about our environment and the problems we are creating ourselves to this planet. What pushes me to talk about the Honey Bee is that this little creature is so familiar to me since I am from the countryside. It lives in our garden, it pollinates our fruit trees and flowers. I remember when I woke up in the morning and heared a lot of buzzing and got out to find out what was up there. To my surprize, thousands of Honey bees were working hard in our garden. A so a beautiful living picture. These days, the problem that THE HONEY BEE IS DISAPPEARING preoccupies my mind a lot mainly that I am touching this problem and witnessing it. Every day, some Honey Bees pay me a visit to my point of service. I can find them on my desk, beside my computer or on the floor. They neither can fly nor move. After two hours I find them dead. By the way, my point of service is speciallized in selling cell phones(mobiles). And I am aware that waves and radiations of cell phones just disturb the Honey Bee's means of communication and navigation. Consequently, it loses its way back home and enter my office as if asking for help or showing me how dangerous we have became to this planet. The dead Honey Bee makes me aware that myself I am taking part in this war against Honey Bees. You see the picture above. That is my hand holding four dead Honey Bees. It aches me to collect them every day and put them with the garbage.

  • Thank you for caring mayumi garcia.
  • This is so touching...and an eye opener!...
I understand your feelings toward the bees..I also moved by your story...
We are all somewhat, somehow guilty on contributing harm to our natures and continuously adding more to their sufferings and sometimes we can't do anything about it just like you in your situation...
But if men do the harming of this planet, men must also the one who do the rehabilitating of it...
So what I am thinking right now is this!
If only we, men/women could think of a way of preventing the radiation wave from harming these little creatures while enjoying the benefits of this technology, I think there's a hope to save them...
Impossible?? I think not..after all isn't the Men who created it this technology..So men should find the solution for it...Think the Idea of Computer Virus..men created virus but they are the one who could fight it through the so-called Anti-Virus system...
This insight compelled me to think...There's still hope for our Little honey Bees!
    Don't you think?
Thank you hanane! keep on writing an eye-opener stories like this...

  • Thank you Dear Tara for adding the link to the original lesson.
Hi Sri Wahyuni, I am happy to hear that Honey Bees are going well and doing well in your country. And tnak you for the invitation.
I wish that every country becomes aware of this danger and takes care of disappearing species and work hard to preserve and protect their lives. I am sure that if a honey bee disappears today, tomorrow is going to be our turn to disappear. If our environment is no longer a healthy place for some species, do not think that it is still a healthy place for us as human beings.
    Regards
