History repeats between Turkey and Sri Lanka

A medical centre building has constructed at Mullipuram village of Puttalam, at a cost of SL Ruppes 3.2 Million ($ 32,000) with the financial aid from the IHH Organization of Turkey.

A weekly OPD clinic with medicines in free of charge, while medication and relevant health educations are planned to provide for needy. In meantime a regular eye, diabetes and medical clinics also to be held free of charge.

This was named after Sahid Faruk Actas who passed away in a plane crash at Afghanistan last year, though he has visited Puttalam in the day of Eid el Azha (Hajj festival) in 2009 to donate cattle for Qurban.

The official opening of the medical centre will be held on 31st December 2011.

I am happy to post this as a blog to pay my thanks on behalf of my city people to all my beloved friends and relatives from Turkey.

Furthermore, Sri Lanka and Turkey have a deep historical relationship. Especially in the era of Ottoman Caliphate, Sri Lankan Muslim community was bound with the Caliph of Ottoman Empire. Sri Lankan Muslims are still having many symbols which represent the Turk relationship. i.e. the ‘fez’ cap (white woven), architecture (Mosques) etc.

The history is having the deepen roots of past while the present routes for a brighter future, In Sha Allah :)
